Noajthon

I wanted to provide an update especially to yourself and to all the others who provided very helpful advice on my wife's eea RC application!

To summarise I had an application pending after a previous refusal due to the change In law for dual nationals. Prior to referring to this board I re applied in desperation but thought it was doomed to fail. However, we travelled as planned and had some trouble re entering Northern Ireland via Dublin but finally got through after a lot of hassle even with the certificate of application that the Home Office stated would allow travel. Obviously this compounded our worries and instead of waiting for a refusal I composed a letter quoting both transitional arrangement regulations and HO guidelines, publications, and related law associated with my wife's right to reside following us having lived here as a family for in excess of 5 years. Note, I had previously supported my application with all sorts of employment, family, and living together proofs spanning over ten years and again referenced this in my correspondence.

This seemed to cook from early April and today she received an eea 10 year residence card with work permissions etc.

Therefore Noajthon I have finally fell into a bed of clover and it indeed smells good.

I can't thank you enough for opening my eyes, educating me, and giving us hope, and for leading me on the path that has ultimately led to our success.

Apologies for the lengthy post but hope that this can be viewed by some other poor soul should they have the misfortune to find themselves in the same bad place that we were in.

Thanks also secret.simon, joneeboy, obie, chaoclive, and anyone else that helped as the relief in getting this over the line is immeasurable...

Ps, now I am sorted does anyone know what application or route we should go next time around? No pressure though... I would consider getting wife Irish citizenship but any thoughts or advice even though I have no real plan or need to do anything further in the near future..
