Dividend vouchers

Post by sutirthas » Tue Jun 02, 2009 9:39 pm

Hi all,

Regarding Dividend vouchers, do they have to be on company letterhead and stamped by accountant? I have them on normal A4 paper with my company logo printed at the top as a computer printout only - ios this sufficient?

Thanks

Hi
A Normal A4 paper should suffice. However ensure that you get it stamped by your accountant and also get it signed by your company secretary or director (possibly your self).

This should do the trick

Self Employed - salary and bank statement doesn't match

Post by s12345 » Mon Jun 08, 2009 2:31 pm

Hi,

I am Self Employed and also draw salary as employed from my company. I have a problem. the salary i transfered doesnot match with the salary my accountant calculated because i transfered to my account when ever i needed money.

Could you please help me, which are the documents i can provide? If i provide P60 (net and gross but not monthly breakup) and Bank statement will that hold good?

Did you one in this situaltion?

Thanks..

Not sure if the accountant would oblige to sign the dividend vouchers. If not, would the vouchers signed by the company's secretary, company rubber stamped and bank statements proving the money transfered.. Should these be enough?

Well, it is always better to get it authenticated by your accountant in form of a stamp using his official stamp.

At least my accountant went out of his way to get the documents quickly.

Hsmp can you please tell do we consider net dividend towards our income or gross.
Means if we receive in our bank 9900 pounds than gross would be 11000 pounds,so we consider 9900 towards our earning calculation.

Plz reply.

Hi SSOCT98
It is always gross dividends. I mean I had claimed for Gross Dividends and got the expected points.

Let me know if you require any further information

Re: Self Employed - Approved and Got my documents back

Post by mewmewmew » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:42 am

Hi PG,

I am planning to extend my HSMP next month, I run my own company as the sole shareholder and Company Director. I am the sole employee. My Previous Earnings will fall into two categories: (i) the salary paid to me by my company during my company’s last fiscal year (to 28 February 2009); and (ii) the money my company will make from 1 March 2009 to 30 July 2009, which I plan to retain in the company rather than paying it to myself.

I want to ask which documents I need to provide to prove category (ii) of Previous Earnings described above. Since the business account date of my company is 28th February, annual company accounts for the period 1 March 2009 - 28 February 2010 will not be available until March 2010. Will mid-term business accounts, accompanied by a letter from my accountant confirming that I am entitled to the net profit for the relevant period, be sufficient proof? Which documents would you advise providing?

And did you send your original Degree certification? (I saw some other member recommend you to send it because he was asked by the Home Office to provide even it was for the extension.

Look forward to having your advice
Sam

You can get the company statement made for the required period and support it with the letter from the accountant confirming the turnover and net profit for the period.

Make sure that the interim report is prepared according to the statuary requirement i.e. same way as your company report that you file with the authorities.
I did this myself for the extension which I applied in person at PEO Croydon and got the extension.

Hi PinkFloyd,

Thank you for your answer. My accountant will prepare a interim report for few months I claim, he said he can do it like the one for last year's business account (the one file with the authorities). and he can write the letter to confirm the turnover and net profit for the period. But since both of these documents are from the same source, are they sufficient? or should I also provide the business account statement?

I have some questions about the PEO, I wonder if you can share you experience. Did they ask you anything about your business? Did they argue that with the interim account, it shows that you have enough profit at the moment, but the profit might be less at the end of the business tax year? Did they check the degree certification? some people said they were asked to provide this document although it is for HSMP extension in Tier 1.

I had the same doubts about documents being from the same source but apparently company accounts report is the responsiblity of the directory and prepared by the accountant on his behalf. Hence, they ask for the report to be signed by the director. Taking your business account statement will be a good idea to prove the figures in the report if need be.

I had no questions asked at the PEO about the company et al. They did ask to furnish the degree certificate and IELTS report.

About your profits being less at the end of tax year, I don't see your point. The company reports shows Net profit i.e profit after tax. So if you are furnishing the report for a period you will have figure for tax paid (hypothetically) for that earning and that is how you got the net profit.

The argument what happens in the future if raised doen't hold water as even salaried people cann't gurantee that the amount they are claiming now will remain same or increase in the future.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

I am contracting, Director of my own company and no company sectary so far. How you presented your case as employee, were you paying enough pay to urself. You submitted Dividends as well means you presented urself as director as well. Do you need submit other company documents like HMRC tax returns etc in case you show urself as director.
I am paying 24k pa to myself and have one dependent in Uk. What do you
suggest, shall i submit case as employee only ?

Can you please send reply and dividend letter at hamidhsn at gmail.com

Thanks
