Thank you for your enquiry.
Please note that information regarding applications can only be discussed with the applicants themselves. If you are a visa applicant please call the Visa Application Centre where you applied, however, if you are sponsoring a visa application then please ask your wife to request details by calling the Visa Application Centre where she applied.

Settlement Visa

Post by Urbankurri » Fri Oct 16, 2009 9:23 pm

Hey everyone, my husband who is currently living in pakistan has applied for a settlement visa for the UK. He applied in mid July but there has not been any response just yet. We have heard that it takes the full 12 weeks to process the application which is fair enough. i think the 12 weeks are over now but my husband is now saying that apparently the sponsor will have to phone the embassy and find out whats happening about the application because if i dont phone they are not going to speed up the application and if i do phone, he will get a response quicker... is this true? or is my hubby being impatient? i know at the moment, there are " severe IT problems" which is delaying all the applications but we have been told NOT to phone and enquiry about the visa application. My cousin got married 1 year and half ago and both of them, her and her hubby constantly phoned and phoned and the embassy got so annoyed that, he still waiting on his visa till this date.. I urge everyone PLEASE DONT PHONE and enquire about ur visa application because they do get annoyed and it does not help anyone.. please be patient.. but ANYWAY... can anyone answer my question and can anyone also tell me any update of anything at all.... what the latest on the visa application process?? how long will i get response? please update me... thank you!!!

The answers to your questions are in the hundred of posts above yours. You need to be patient and wait.

Dont go by figures qouted by UKBA, go by personal experience of applicants such as those in this forum

Hi

I think people who applied before July are still waiting for a response. My wife applied in June and she is still waiting. We can't go with what ever they say.

Nothing seems to have changed since the home secetary visted. It looks like the BHC still have a huge backlog.

All we can do is pray to Allah SWT

Hi All,

My wife got a reply from BHC on friday. But one significant thing we noticed was that we emailed uk.HUB, who then forwarded the email to visa.Islamabad (BHC). So it seems UKBA have done there bit and its BHC that are slacking.

Anyone else recently recieved a generic email from BHC

Baz

Well atleast they are more accurate with the stats this month.
For the last 6 months they have been showing incorrect figures. But like the great Batley Khan once told me it takes 4 months approx for them to give a decision.

Hi all,

My MP got reply for my hubby's appeal. The AIT saying that we sent the appeal late and requesting the reason. But

Applied 29th April 09
rejected 8th May 09
Recieved response 18th Auguast 09
Lodged Appeal 2nd Sep 09,
Appeal recieved AIT 9th Sep 09,
MP got involve 25th Sep 09.
MP rec repl. 20th Oct 09.

I don't know how they worked it out that appeal was out of time. from 19th August when recieving documents it was until 28th Sep. So I was not out of time in sending apeal. What they playing at.

I am so upset my MP is know writing to them to explain. I have done all that in letters. Ohhhh also they cant tell me anything because it is my hubby's appeal.

Help me please

I got another reply from the ukhub last friday after sending them a stronger email

this is what I sent them:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to find out what exactly is happening with my application, I applied on june the 4th, it is now 19 weeks since ive applied and Im still waiting for a decsion . At the time that I applied I was told it would take 2 months to process and get back, It is now over four months and it is still not finished being processed,. I know perople who have applied for settlement visa after us and have got there visa's back. I do not understand why my application is taking so long. I understand you told my husbands Mp that further checks have to be made on my application but this was told to my husbands local MP six weeks ago. so please please can you chase it up and give me some detailed information onto what stage my application has reached and how much longer I need to wait, as it is getting very frustrating fo me and my husband having to wait so long.

and they replied :

Dear
As you can appreciate we have thousands of cases to deal with and your wife's application will be dealt with in turn. This is a very busy visa section and sometimes we cannot meet all the processing time, due to back logs and staff shortages.

and they replied :
I was hoping that they would give mme some idea on how much longer its going to take, but just another irritating response." your wife application will be dealt in turn" lol after 20 weeks now shouldnt it be my turn now, how long to they need

also yesterday I had some bad news that my uncle past away in pakistan, puts evcerything into context, please everyone pray for him thank you
