I live in Ireland since i was 10 . I applied for the citizenship about a year and so . When i sent my application first i got a reply within 2 months asking me for letters from all schools since i arrived to the state and a reckon able residence letter , the reckonable residency letter took me about 6 months to get as they were ignoring my letters until i got a lawyer to contact them . All of this was without getting a reference number .
When i sent the application again , i got a reply asking me to fill the new application which i did then i got a reference number .
My question is , why i did not get a reference number the first time . and why they ask me to fill the new application while my application was submitted first before the new application was introduced .
My second question concerning the reckonable residency , When i turned 16 they gave me stamp 2A then when i went to college i was given stamp 2 before i applied for stamp 4 . My lawyer said its fine because as i was with my parent and i arrived to the state while i was a minor and not on the purpose of study .
Does anybody now someone with the same case ? Should i suppose that its fine because the application was accepted and i was given a reference number

I think you will have to make the declaration in the presence of a Solicitor/ Gardai and he will later counter sign. I hope this helps

Don't sign the declaration coz u must sign it in the present of solicitor and also ask him to fill it as well, phibsborough main junction old building at corner used to be AIB Bank now solicitor off they charge only €20, ask him to check your form fully and he can... Don't send form without check man..
Best of luck...

Laxani, I have been to NCS today for BC application. I was told Home office is extremely busy with applications and even the deduction of the fees could take upto two months. Hope that helps.

Hi everyone,
I had my ILR and now will apply for nationality next month. I have a question regarding this.
1- in Good Character requirement: do i have to attach any document with my application to show good character like CRB? or will they check it by my NI number and other info provided?
2-List of documents should i prepare to attach with applyication?
2 whats the average processing time?

This is more for timeline tracking than listing out document requirements, however I shall reply if it helps.
1. Good character will be assessed by Home Office. No document required.
2. I used NCS and they accepted the below:
a. Form AN for each applicant
b. Valid Passport + Biometric ILR Card
c. Latest P60 / PayE form which has Tax Reference code
d. Current Address proof (Council Tax statement is ideal as this would cover the entire period for the year since the move)
e. Final assessment print from Points based calculator showing extra 10 points for B1 level english qualification + College Degree Certificate (KOLL)
f. Marriage Certificate (if married)
g. Credit / Debit Card
All originals will be returned back to you on the same day as NCS will attest the copies before forwarding to Home Office. No need to copy the documents as NCS personnel will take copies as part of verification process.
You will receive an acknowledgement for the application from NCS after the process is complete.
Acknowledge for the payment will come through from Home Office once the fee is deducted.
My payment was deducted exactly a week from submission of application.

The wait is hard especially when you see others who submit a month after you get their approval. Feeling down.

HI
I’m new to this forum so not sure where exactly to post this.
I received the citizenship approval letter dated the 9th of June (received on the 13th of June via special delivery) but since then I haven’t received the ceremony invitation.
I've rang them a few times but besides for the standard silly ‘‘call back in 2 weeks’’ I haven’t been able to get any useful information.
So my question is, have any of the posters here with similar approval dates already gotten their invitations? Is there anything I can do? As emails to the home office just get ignored.
THANKS
