hi
i applied my sons passport (renewal) through post office C&S service and i got 9 digit refernce number.

That is possible. If you read my post well, I wrote that If you use Post office Check and Send They may change it.

Thanks Guys, actually, I got 8digits and an extra "X" e.g. 43215678X as my barcode and used the checking site this morning and I got a reply that they received my app yesterday....thanks jonway12 & Nazia

One question matey, did you wait for the letter for interview, or did you call them to arrange interview before receiving the letter? I ask because as it's always busy here in London, I hope they wouldn't wait till after 6weeks before sorting me out......(Maybe I'm still thinking like a non-Brit.....hahahaha)

Hey Allta

I didn't wait for a letter. I called the IPS a week after submitting my application and asked them for the reference number. This allowed me to call the appointments line for an appointment.

You should get the letter about7 days after application.

I wouldn't opt for the London office as the wait is apparently very long. Go for Chelmsford or Luton....depending on what's best for you of course.

guys just to inform you that I attended interview on Saturday in Birmingham. It took no more than 5 minutes and all general questions asked that mentioned before.
