Pls reconfirm if Fixed Deposits are acceptable as evidence

Post by mjmani » Sat Jun 20, 2009 4:30 pm

To Mr. Kandasamy,
Please reconfirm if Fixed Deposits are an acceptable evidence for funds. To my knowledge, funds has to be "liquid" i.e. available for immediate use. fixed deposits are not liquid funds. Savings account is acceptable.
Best regards,
Mani

Hi. I am in process of applying for Tier 1 within 3-4 day time (depends on the Pound rate though). I am going to take the statement from the banks:

1) 12 Months Statement from HDFC to show that my salary is being credited into HDFC Bank only.

2) 3+ Months Statement from ICICI and IDBI Bank.

My Saving in all three banks make it GBPO 2800+ in last 3 months.

Now 2 things, 1st, do we really need to provide some letter from bank that the minimum balance during last 3 months was so and so or only Statement is fine?

2nd, I am already providing 12 Months statement from HDFC bank, do I also need to provide separate 3 months statement from the same bank?

Only Payslips are fine as earning proof or we will need a letter also from HR stating the Net and Gross salary?

Please help me in this. Thanks.

Fixed Deposits are accepted if they are ready to withdraw at any time. You will need a letter from the Bank that you are having FD of Rs. xxxx and this amount is ready to withdraw at any time for your use. That's all.

I am applying tier 1 general point based visa within UK. Do I need any cover letter for that or just application form is sufficient?

Thanks,
