I have just received all my documents back with my ILR approved yesterday. I am still waiting for my Biometric Residence Permit.

1. Current visa: TIER 1 GENERAL
2. Date of expiry of current leave: 22-06-2012
3. Application form used for ILR: SET (O)
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 0
5. Date application posted: 28-05-2012
6. Date application received at UKBA: 29-05-2012
7. Date payment debited: 31-05-2012
8. Payment mode : Credit Card
9. Acknowledgement letter received: 02-06-2012
10. Biometric letter received: 27-07-2012
11. Date of biometrics Enrollment: 28-07-2012
12. Date of approval: 17 November 2012
13. Date of return of passport and other documents: 21 November 2012
14. Date BRP ILR Received:WAITING

Current spouse visa expires: 23/11/2012 (second visa, first arrived 15/08/2008 - 27 months, FLR approved 23/11/2010)
Passed Life in the UK test: February 2012
Submitted application for ILR SET(M): 22/09/2012 (Postal application)
Arrived UKBA: 24/09/2012
Acknowledged: 25/09/2012
Request for Biometric Details received: 07/11/2012 (letter dated 01/11/12)
Biometric details submitted: 07/11/2012
ILR Decision: WAITING
ILR Approval: WAITING
Residence Permit: WAITING
Passports (both): WAITING
Unfortunately (as it happens) she followed UKBA website advice NOT to apply for ILR until within 28 days of visa expiry. That was until we contacted UKBA in September to enquire as to when she could apply..... because she was on her second 2-year stay, she was told she could apply any time AFTER passing the Life in the UK test.

Hi there - I'm going to be away for a short period of time and believe from looking at the timelines that my BRP may arrive any day now. Does anyone know if the permit itself must be signed for when it arrives or whether this comes as standard post?

Applied end of 28 august 2012 done biometric on 28 th october 2012 and again HO send another letter that biometric hasnt come right had to do after one week biometrics on 3 rd november dono how long its going to take wanted to go away during christmas . iwaited six months for extension from march 2012 and now another six months i suppose.SUN76

Hi, I have actually received my approval letter and BRP the same day (Wednesday 21 November). I wasn't at home so I picked up my documents and approval letter on Thursday and had to rearrange the delivery of the BRP for Friday. The person who was delivering the BRP called me up on the phone an hour ago and asked if I go home to sign for the letter in person with the proof of identification. The answer is that the BRP must be signed for when it arrives with the proof of identification.

I got my invite off my adviser but my actual invite never came through.
I immensely hate the mail man in my area who never delivers anything important to my door for over a year now (complain was filed a few times.)

Yes, we are following the same timeline! In fact, I think they treat applications submitted via advisers or lawyers separately.

3-4 months ??? - I hope we’ll get approval by the end of this year, some kind of Xmas present from HO.

Since it has been more than six months so I called the ukba helpline on friday,
A young girl answered and said the application hasnt been completed yet and I have to wait, no timescale for waiting was given.
Whilst I have nothing against the staff member who answered the query, I am appalled by the service I have received... because I am nonthewiser ...

I was told

1. The application was not complete---this is exactly what I called to find out !! what kind of answer is that.

2. I have to wait further without knowing even a rough timescale

I have been waiting for the last six months , again hardly groundbreaking advice.

Biomatrix request letter received 12/09/12 - dated 06/09/2012

Biomatrix completed 15/09/12

Letter received 24/11/2012 - dated 22/11/2012 Asking for more documents of cohabitation.

Here is more problem - we used the SCS service on 10th July and were told and given a receipt that everything was ok - the application was complete and the right type and amount of documents were submitted. I am angry that we paid not a small some of money for this service to make sure all was ok but clearly there is a problem.
I gave them loads of letters which the guy took away and photo copied but how do i know how many he sent and which ones? Will the UKBA tell me which ones they have as honestly i dont have anything else to send them if they need more. The fact is that we have been married for 5 years together for 8 years. 4 of those years we spent together living as a couple my husbands country. This marriage is NOT a sham and my husbands application is valid.
So here are few questions maybe someone can answer.

Best number to call UKBA on as in the letter it says and i quote "please do not hesitate to contact us on the number above" there is not number shown on letter.

Is it their duty to prove we are not living together as married couple since my husband arrived in UK and all those years before or ours to prove we were.

Will UKBA tell me which doc's they have.

By how much will this delay our application as my husband needs to return to country as his son has special needs and my husband needs to sort out specialist medial treatment, schooling and therapy for him. He had already cancelled 1 non refundable flight at end of October as the BRP was not processed. (our mistake i know but an expensive one)

God give me strength this whole process has nearly broken me!
