Yeah thanks for the contact number.

Yeah the survey email was only received this morning.
I guess I can give it couple of days before calling them. I can understand the Christmas busy period.

I can also relate this to my acknowledgment letter which was received 5 days after the acknowledgement email.

I will give it few days.

Thanks a lot though.

I will keep you guys posted. :)

Hi

A little update on my application.
I have just received brown envelope from HO. It says Citizenship Invitation to book the ceremony and application is approved.
The letter is dated 28/11/2014 but received today on 12/12/2014.

I guess October applications are in the speedy zone.

Now I need to book ceremony with the council. Whats the next step ?
Have we got a thread about detailed process involved after getting the approval to receiving the passport ?

And also I would like to thank all of you and moderators for all the help/advice :)
I am still a member here and will always remain one. This doesn't mean I am going to disappear now.
I still have many questions for you lovely people.

Also good luck to all those who are waiting.
I hope it goes through before Christmas.

Thanks again. :)

Double V

As you live in Crawley,I looked it up for you. This is where you need to book the ceremony. You just need to give the reference number from your invitation letter.

http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/living/bir ... onies.aspx

Then you can see what's happening at the ceremony (youtube)

When you receive the certificate means you are fully a British citizen. Then you get a passport application from a bigger post office and fill it in accordingly. There is a leaflet with it.
Then they will call you in for a face to face interview where they ask personal questions.
If everything is fine you will receive your British passport

Is this what you wanted to know?

I think it is important to mention here that just because you used one NCS in a borogh does not mean you will attend the ceremony in the same borough. I applied via Croydon NCS but the ceremony will be in Weybridge even though Crawley would have been the closest to where I live. In my case the approval letter stated the name of the council to call in order to book a ceremony.

in the application it asks where you want to do the ceremony if you dont want to do it in the same borough where you belong to
I presume everything is written in that letter. I am sorry I just got a letter which says it was successful but I have not seen the invitation letter yet.

Did the Ho send the invitation letter or just a letter saying your application was successful?

As my timeline entry tells, there was a Home Office approval letter received yesterday. And today I received a letter from Council for ceremony.

The approval letter from Home Office however, tells to contact Council for ceremony ASPAP. Since its Saturday so they are closed, however I have received letter posted by Council yesterday, but I will contact them on Monday to try to book a private ceremony if at all possible.

its the same as your home office reference number, but when you are going to get the Naturalisation certificate then your certificate number would be different.

It says on approval letter to contact your Council ASAP, but I got approval letter on Friday night so was thinking of calling on Monday but got Council letter on Saturday morning. I'm sure all here who put their ceremony date must've gotten a phone call or letter from Council ;)

I need to call tomorrow and try to book ceremony sooner if possible and update timeline accordingly.
