I'm not so sure, if it was only extending, conflicting with this document, page 11, which says "Switching into Tier1 General Route", and first bullet "highly skilled migrant"confusedhsmp wrote:WHAT!!!
I am surpised that you guys are still fighing over whether HSMP -> Tier 1 is switching or extending.
The chapter was closed long time back. So please dont worry. It is extending by all means!
Hi, the answer to this question is hidden under the application form.vhsmpuk wrote:Hi All,
Does new rules from 31st march 2009 also effect people with hsmp?

THE form i still not updated. its still the old form. in this form every one can claim points for bachelor. we have to wait for new form which will be available after new rule comes in to effect.uckocak wrote:Hi, the answer to this question is hidden under the application form.vhsmpuk wrote:Hi All,

Please go to Page 27, Section A, which says "is the applicant making an application for..., Select second option, which is extension, it takes you to section C. On Section C, it asks "is the applicant in UK under"... Select second option, and go to Section 3C on Page 44. When you go to Page 44, you can claim 20 points for age under 30, and at page 45, 30 points for BSc.
So dear HSMPians, hope this answers all the doubts.
We HSMPians are eligible to "EXTEND" our visa under Tier 1 and the changing rules will nof affect us.
Many forum members already wrote this, however finding the information under the application form made me feel better.
Thanks to all, Utkan

go to this page, and see the links on the right hand side. You will see 2 different forms. One says "valid from 31st Mar 09", other says "valid until 31st Mar 09".
So the forms are updated, and this form
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... 310309.pdf
is "From 31 Mar 09" and we can claim points according to Page 45.
Hope this clarifies everything.
Do not worry.
Thanks, Utkan
Thanks for the correction nionlight, my error. However I still believe that guidance forms are clear about HSMPians situation. Hope everything will go well for all of us.nionlight wrote:dear uckocakuckocak wrote:Dear Nionlight, nionlight wrote:THE form i still not updated. its still the old form. in this form every one can claim points for bachelor. we have to wait for new form which will be available after new rule comes in to effect.uckocak wrote:

thats guidance not form. . form is not updated yet.
Ideally HO should have put a new form and points calculator on its website well in advance, but one can still use the same form provided he/she uses changed criteria to calculate points(am I missing anything here?). It is not mandatory to use points calculator either (points for English language would remain the same irrespective of the changes).HSMP_maybe wrote:Sorry to bring this topic in forefront again.
The new rule shall be effective by tomorrow.
Looking at UKBA site, it looks like they have the new guidance doc, but not the form or points based calculator. I wonder if someone wants to apply tomorrow, where to get the form, or how to make use of point based calculator.

Don't think one can use old form in conjunction with new criteria and Points based calculator is not mandatory but definitely is good to have.push_hsmp wrote:Ideally HO should have put a new form and points calculator on its website well in advance, but one can still use the same form provided he/she uses changed criteria to calculate points(am I missing anything here?).
