I have made an application via NCS Leeds on 20th July and would like to know the status of my application.

I tried calling the number on the acknowledgement letter (08450105200) but get an automated response saying that they cannot provide status and I should call only if my application has been pending for more than 6 months.

Does anyone know what number I can call to find out about the status of my application?

Thanks joelondon and pepe. I tried the number with option 2 and option 3 and it worked !!
They have mailed a letter yesterday by second class mail. So hope to receive it in the next 2-3 days. Will post the outcome.

Now they dont really take phone calls for people who apply less than 6 months, you can try to press 2 and 3, and that is for people who submiitted application over 6 months, I think they will answer you questions, but they dont have to.

nitas, I applied one day later than yours, and I am still waiting as well. I think we should get the answer in 2 weeks time. Dont know why some people got approval letter in 2 weeks.

Now I have one question, as you applied as a Spouse and the residential requirment is 3 years but as you mentioned that you have been living here more than 5 years.

Question is, in form AN where it asks to provide addresses for the last 5 years, did you cover that 5 years or did you put only last 3 years addresses?

I cannot believe it, they charge us £735 pounds per single application, and send everything by 2nd class post, HO just want to keep every penny in their pocket,worse than me.

Hay Hay My Brother Congartulations once again so happy for you, just an update as i promised, i called them on monday the 16th to book the ceremony in (Manchester) and found the earliest date on 15th of september so i asked for the private one and guess what?? the call was at 12 o'clock exactly, he asked me if i like to take the 2:30 one!!!, which was in only tow hours and half from the time i called!! so ofcourse i did not say no for that great offer and left the job at once, went home got dressed up and even managed to invite my cousin with his GF, there it was
by the way the fee for the private ceremony was only £100 , not £115..
anyway i couldn't fill the passport application that day coz i did not find the person who needed to sign my application with the photo, so i sent it yesterday the 17th wich make it same day as yours
lets see who gets it first LOL

dony worry about waiting time coz it all depends on case worker & other situations. my application took 9 weeks although that was quite simple & straight farward application .so jusr relax hope u'll get good news soon.

HO said my letter was sent on 12th, one week ago, but not got it yet. I call the again, tney said if I dont get it in 10 working days, I can ask for a new one. I have not any confidence in Royalmail at all.

I dont understand how come others getting an update from HO where I have tried couple of times and all they said was just "Your case is not 6 months old so wait"...

On 13/08 they returned all my orignal documents with a letter saying
" Thank you for submitting the ecnlosed docs. For your convenience the enclosed docs have been noted and returned. The application will be considered on the information that has been recorded, but it may be necessary to ask for them to be returned".

Is this normal that documents arrving prior to the decision letter or they should arrived together..Im worried can some please advice?

I have sent my naturalisation application (me, wife and a kid) in the last week (12th August) directly (postal) assuming that I will get my approval letter and passports and supporting documents (original) all together in my self addressed special delivery envelope enclosed.

But now I am bit worried as in your case you have received your documents back without approval letter. Have your solicitor sent self addressed envelope to return the documents or you got your documents back via second class Royal Mail?

Can anyone confim that this happened with them before or this is the first time?
