To Drae pls good luck to your application.i am on retention of right residence of EEA through divorce,pls what sort of documents did u use to apply when u applied last year,both of ur ex and yourself?
Also how long did it to receive the pr after the application?
Finally did u apply yourself or solicitor and what type of the form to use?

Just to let you know that I submitted an EARLY application in February but my official naturalisation date was due in april, unfortunately my application was refused. from the HO refusal letter I quote :
- Whilst the secretary of state has DISCRETIONARY to waive this requirement he/she is not prepared to do so in this particular case. your application has therefore been refused.
I received a £80 refund from the £874 application.
However, However ...A close friend made an early application also around 4 months before his naturalisation date but he got approved in a matter of 4 weeks. So each case are different.
I applied again for the second time and still waiting their decision.
I hope this is helpful and doesn't confuse you more.

I applied on 2 June via the NCS Cambridge. Called the citizenship office again today, as it's now been such a long time, and I spoke to a very nice person who told me that my application is still under consideration (?!?!?), so nowhere near the letter being even sent out to me, let alone a chance for me to hear anything!! 16 weeks and counting, and I've seen that other people who applied later have already heard back... I wonder if us May and June people have our files sitting at the bottom of some drawer somewhere... This is getting really disheartening

I know exactly how you feel terreis. I applied on the 16th May and have resorted to calling the Home Office up once a week. The only problem is that I keep on getting the same response ' under consideration'.

This is becoming rather dis-heartening and beyond a joke.
Hope these applications are not sitting somewhere collecting dust or being used as someones foot rest.

In most of the case, they don't contact the referees. They only contact them if they find any wrong or suspicious about ur application or character.

By the grace of God my wife received her approval today.

Funny enough we rang the Citizenship Helpline yesterday and the chap told us to wait till 26th Nov when the application completes its first 6 months.

Anyway the immigration journey is over. Thanks to all the mods and members for all the help and support throughout this years long journey. God bless you all.
