I dont see any problems with that BooBoo. It is quite obvious that one would not remain on the same post after 5 years. So dont worry, you will get it soon.

I would suggest you wait untill 14 weeks and dont send any letters now as it may complicate things. Your case is straight forward so dont worry.

Booboo - congrats!! - though it makes me wonder why does it take UK BA 12 weeks to handle even the straight cases.

Rashidawan, they have taken the money so they have got your application. Dont worry, this does happen occasionally. This could have been due to the bank holidays and all. Now all you have to do is wait patiently.

wptotier177 Congrats !!

Does anyone know why the PR is not dated on the acknowledgement date - but rather several weeks later - has someone got it reviewed...

Wptotier - Congratulations!

3crown - You should hear something anytime between 8 to 12 weeks, that seems to be the average.

nmkpidelta - I suppose thats the rule - its stamped when its decided. I dont think that the home office will be open to any debate on this! However there have been cases where they have backdated the ILR under HSMP 4 year rule.

ILR on the Basis of 10 Years Long Residence: I should have applied since last September when I qualified but just didn't bother, but electioneering made me fret and I applied just last week.

Timeline so far:
Application Posted: Thursday 22/04/2010
Application received: Friday 23/04/2010
Payment Taken on: Friday 23/04/2010

I do have a worry that if labour fails to win this election, immigration rules might change, and the 10 year long residence basis for obtaining ILR might change, and anyone caught in the middle may not be granted the ILR. Am I just fretting needlessly, or there are good reasons to fret on this while 'am awaiting a decision.

Thanks

Devonian dont worry but just be prepared to wait for a while, it can take a few months may be even six months. However you are needlessly worring about the policy change, such things do not happen overnight and there is always a long transition period. Moreover since you have already applied, your application will be processed according to the rules that existed at the time of application. So even if the rules change, they will not affect you.

So, just relax and wait patiently. You will get a positive result if you have met all the requirements.

[Thanks tintin I assume the 8-12 weeks kicks off on the anniversary of 1st entry, which is eight weeks from now. not the anniversary of stamp in Passport, one week from now?

3 crown - I meant to say that it takes 10-12 weeks to process the application. The countdown starts from the date of your posting of application.

You should post your applications not before 28 days of the completion of your qualifying period.

ILR ( 5 years WP with two different employers)

After 11 weeks, I received a letter from Home Office , returing all my supporting doucments except passports today. The coverning letter says ' a decision has been taken on your application and you will shortly receive notification of that decision, along with any valuable documents....'.
I am a bit worried about the outcome of their decision!! Any people with similar experience?
Thanks in advance.

Timeline so far:
Application Type: ILR (10 Years Long Residence)
Application Posted: Thursday 22/04/2010
Application received: Friday 23/04/2010
Payment Taken on: Friday 23/04/2010
Application Acknowledgement: Friday 23/04/2010
Acknowledgement Received: Thursday 29/04/2010

Two key issues raised the Acknowledgement Letter:

(1) Make no urgent travel plans until Application is decided and passposrt is returned.

(2) Make no update enquiries until UKBA gets in touch with either requests for more information/supporting documents in support of the application or a decision on the application as originally submitted.

As others have rightly suggested on this thread, I've decided to WAIT VERY PATIENTLY. So, I am not going to be thinking about it at all except if the existing visa, which expires in 2 years time, is about to expire and I haven't heard from them, but I wouldn't think it should take that long for them to get back to me. I also think the application should be pretty straightforward because all previous visa extension requests contained no instance of "out of time" application. And, all the previous visa stamps were affixed on one passport which I submitted with my application. Also, the total number of days absent from the UK over the 10 years period = 147: minimum at a time being 11, and the maximum being 44. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Raynes, I received a similar letter - the only difference was that they did tell me that my application was approved. I got the documents about 2 weeks after the letter. You should hear soon, it wont be too long. All the Best!

Devonian, you will be allright. It wont take 2 years, just looking from the previous posts with regards to the 10 year category, it could be anything from 4-6 months. All the best.

Thank you for your reply, Tintin. I cannot understand why they didn't let me know the result straight away. The term 'shortly' they meant is 2 weeks!!! I really regret that I didn't use the premium service.

Hi all

I sent my ILR ( Set O ) work permit 5 years on the 1st of March . It was recieved /acknowledged on the 2nd and payment was taken on the 5th. I didn't hear anything until last week when I recieved a letter saying the application is valid but it has been sent to another case worker unit for further enquiries. This is after waiting for 8 weeks. Has anyone else had a similar letter? How long does it take for these enquiries?
I would appreciate any feedback as I am getting desperate and wished I had gone in person.

Thanks in advance,
Tracy

Tracey, was there anything complex with your application forexample excessive absences, any motoring offences, periods of redundancies?

if everything was straight forward then just relax, you will be ok.
