Don't worry, it will come through. We all need patience to deal with Home Office processes :-)

Hi GGreg

If you think your application was straight forward and should not have taken so long.
I will advise you after taking oath pls send email to complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
asking what was the reason for such a long delay, when other people getting approval in 3 weeks.

I got in 3 week ,my application was straightforward.

Regarding background check i don't think HO office is doing any.

I gave 2 referee none of them received any call or email.
This proves there is no standard way of processing application.

Hi All Members

Please use Freedom of Information to know how many application Pending for more than 6 months.

You can also ask them below questions:

1.On what ground fees is 906 pound considering fees for Passport is just 85 pound.
2.On what basis priority are assigned to Application.
3.Has any new Application Processing workflow launched this year because of which this year application has quick turnaround time.
Last year application might not have uploaded on new system and still being processed as per old process so taking more time.

I work in IT and know point 3 happens quite a lot when we automate any new process.

Wow. A lot of interesting details discussed on this forum in the last few days. Shocking but atleast it proves why some of us are still waiting for so long. I applied on 10/10/2014 via ncs which was received by HO on 14/10/2014. 5 months are over and I'm still waiting.

if your Approval letter is dated 07 Mar then obviously that's the Date of Approval, not the 17th which is the date of receipt.

As you paid with CC, your acknowledgement should be the same date as when the payment was taken. You should receive the letter by some time next week.

Another example of HO compentency

My friend has called HO today to get an update on his application which was under consideration and enquire about the acknowledgement letter as he hasnt received one.

Customer service advisor told him that there r 4 stages of the applications till decision and he did not mention the stages but the info through FOI has mentioned that there r 2 stages of the application. I dont know who to beleive.

Most interesting thing is when he asked them to comfirm his address then he came to know that HO has one of his previous addresses as his currect address where he use to live 4 years ago and he changed couple of address after that. He has been advised to fill in the change of circumstances form.

He called them and came to know that HO has got his wrong address, so all posts must have gone to the wrong address. What if he did not call HO?

Those bunch of incompentent people r not doing correct data entry, not taking decisions according to the law, not dealing with application in timely manner and not following any pattern of work. I thought that HO is just picking up applications randomly but I did not think that they r picking up address randomly too n putting it as applicants current address. that is ridiculous.

Does anyone have experience with booking ceremony at tower hamlets? I tried to contact them and the phone has been a nightmare. Any advice appreciated!
