Hi, I am due for ILR in oct 2014, but i have already cleared my life in the uk test, can anybody confirm that is it not too early as i have given the test. Will it cause any issue for me when i apply for ILR in oct 2014?

My ILR is due in april 2013 and I cleared it last week and thought I was early but you made me feel better. I guess it should be fine!

Might be a problem if they introduce new version in 2014.

Based on what are published requirements/rules today, it will not cause any issue for you when you apply for ILR in Oct 2014.

What happens in future, who knows...

Well that shouldn't be a problem. the LiUK test can be taken any time and has got no expiry.
Even if the new version is introduced, the previous test results should be valid.
It's like Driving Test, you have new things introduced in the tests, but that doesn't mean people who have already passed the tests previously are supposed to re-take the new test.

I think analogy is wrong here. You have to follow the rules of the day when you make the application. LIUK is only acceptable until October 2013 after that every one applying for settlement has to pass the test equal to B1.

Hi David,

Please elaborate on what you mean by English Test and B1 level as there is nothing published. Seems like something which not many people are aware about. More information will help the forum...

Thanks!
