|
|
Hello
What is my immigration status while my application for ILR is in progress. The reason I ask is, I am thinking of changing jobs and the employer would like to know if I am entitled to work in the UK. I have done my biometrics last month.
Thanks

Frequently Asked Questions
What is my immigration status while my application is being decided?
If you make an application before your authorised stay ends, your existing immigration status will continue until your application is decided, even if the decision is not made until after the end of your permitted stay. You can continue to work until your case is decided if the conditions of your existing leave allows you to do so. _________________ Info/Advice I provide is general in nature and shouldn't be used as a substitute for professional advice where necessary.

| Thanks cs95tdg for your response. It says that I can continue to work until the case is decided. But what if I want to change the jobs during this period? |

You can change jobs, but what proof have you got to show to your new employer that you can legally work ?
I don't think they will accept acknowledgement letter as a proof. |

Everyone is responding without ascertaining whether the OP is a Tier 2 migrant!!
If he is, he cannot change sponsors - contrary to the responses above. _________________ Life isn't fair, but you can be! |

Then, fortunately, the responses above are correct. _________________ Life isn't fair, but you can be! |
