Hello Everyone,
Thanks to all who answered my previous questions. Hope someone could advice me with below questions. I had received citizenship approval letter this month and due to attend citizenship ceremony in the month of Nov 2012, following my ceremony I am planning to submit my wife and son citizenship application via NCS next month. My wife is pregnant and due in the month of April, hopefully her application outcome will be decided by due date. We are getting confused with below queries as what would be best to do?

My query is
1) If we decide to have baby delivered in India. What will be the status of new born? Will the baby be a British citizen or an Indian citizen? What procedure do we need to follow( eg passport, visas, application forms and maintenance funds) to bring the baby to UK after delivery?
2) My another query if we decide to have baby delivered in UK. What will be the status of new born? Will the baby have an eligibility to get OSIC card with British passport or does he need to have a visa every time he visits India?

You advice is very appreciated

Many Thanks

Your baby will be born British by descent and you can apply for his/her passport after the birth if born in India.

Your baby will be born British otherwise than by descent and you can apply for his/her passport after the birth if born in the UK

The country of birth is irrelevant. Please check with your local Indian authorities as to whether you are allowed to hold both Indian and British citizenship.

Thanks for your quick reply. To my knowledge
We can't carry two passports both Indian and British, But to my second
query when the baby gets British passport, would he
be able eligible to get OSIC card or does he
need to have visa every time he visit India

Many Thanks

First of all I take it that by OSIC you mean OCI as you mentioned about visa for India Visit.

if above assumption is correct then the baby will be eligible to apply for OCI along with an adult making on OCI application as per the eligibility criteria
