Early Tier 2 Extn - Allowed?

Hi,

I am in Tier 2, got my visa in June 2011 valid until June 2014 and have to go for extention for another 2 years in 2014. But I will be eligible for ILR in Dec 2014.

Instead of waiting till June 2014, can I extend my Tier 2 visa now for another 3 years which will be helpful for my child who turns 18 next month to maintain the dependant status till getting eligible for ILR.

I am not sure whether it is allowed, when I have another 15 months Tier 2 validity.

I request the forum experts to advice me on this issue as I have another 10 days only to decide.

Hi,

If I get a new COS from my sponsor, irrespective of the validity of the visa date, can I extend my tier 2 visa?

Gurus, please express your views.

But the OP was asking about extention in the middle of the visa duration with the same employer.

earliest is 3 month before expired date

The certificate of sponsorship must be used for leave to enter or remain in the UK within 3 months of being assigned. An application for a restricted certificate cannot be made more than 3 months before the employment start date.
