tier2 dependent to ilr dependent will it reset tier 2 dependent time?

Hi Guys,

just wanted to ask one tricky question, i am on tier2 dependent visa and i have got 4 year and 8months visa as i came after 3months of my husband came and he got full 5 year tier 2 visa.

so my question is as for ilr we have to complete 5 years, so what are the options for me for ilr?

question 1 : if my husband get ilr and apply for ilr dependent, will my 4 year and 8 months will reset and i have to complete full 5 year again?

question 2: if above question is yes then is there any way i can save my 4 year and months to apply for ilr ?

any suggestions are highly appreciated.

If your spouse gets ILR under the skilled worker route, you will remain under the same visa as usual and can apply for ILR under the same route as a dependant. You do not need to switch to the family route.
If your spouse however is granted ILR under a different route e.g long residence then you cannot get ILR under your current visa, so you need to switch and that will reset your ILR clock

Thanks for the information mate, but this is question how can she apply for ilr as her 5 year will not be completing while visa will be expire she got only 4 year and 8 months visa so while i convert my visa from tier 2 to ilr what visa she will be?

and if she goes as ilr dependent from tier 2 dependent will her time will reset?

She applies for a PBS Dependent extension, it will be a 3 year extension.

and if she goes as ilr dependent from tier 2 dependent will her time will reset?

Yes, her ILR clock will reset to zero and she will be on a new 5 year route to ILR.
