Fee waiver application pending - visa showing expired

Dear Members

My friend applied for a Visa Fees waiver on 12 June 2025and got a reply back on 28 July 2025 that he needs to submit further documents and the deadline for submissions they have given him 11th August 2025, whereas he submitted document on 6 August.

After that his visa application is showing Pending status and till then he have got no answer from UKVI and on the other hand his UKVI visa expired on 26th August 2025 on line that visa expired and no longer right to work. In this case, what should he do?
