Child UK Passport renewal - urgent

Hi,

I am applying for renewal of child UK passport. It asks for Parents nationality and underneath it says ( at time of birth). Since at time of birth, both parents were Indian, we have stated that. Currently both parents are British and hold UK passport.

1. Wondering why they are asking about citizenship at time of birth and not current nationality of the parents?

2. Under 'what you need to send' section:

Applicants document: if any of following apply

- change of British nationality status in your passport to British citizen, then send registration certificate

My child already has British citizen mentioned in current UK passport, so I think need not send this additional document?

3. I intend to travel to India in July and my child existing passport expires Dec. And that's why I am submitting renewal as I read some where that at time of travel validity should be more than 6 months. Is that correct?

What about oci? Since current oci mentions old passport number? Do I need to update oci?
