Additional work for 3232 (Early education and childcare practitioners) skilled category visa holder

Post by hcc90210 » Fri Mar 27, 2026 9:33 pm

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me with a friend's query please.

She arrived in the UK under the 3232 (Early education and childcare practitioners) skilled visa category 3 years ago and has been in a sponsored role at a nursery since, with no employment gaps.

She's very keen to work an additional job, and after reading the rules, believes 20 hours of additional work per week is permitted on top of her permanent employment in the nursery.

She has now been offered some hours as a private carer to a young adult with special needs. Given that her visa sponsorship is for a role in childcare, would accepting additional work involving caring for an adult (she believes job code 6135) still meet the conditions of her visa? She will be in continuous employment at her nursery position while working these additional hours.

Many thanks in advance for any advice that can be provided.
