|
|
Hi all, hope someone can help me here, It has been nearly 16 weeks since I applied for SET (M) and have not received BRP invitation letter yet, I have called UKBA few times but received general answer that they cannot see anything on their database regarding my application. Also this week I have contacted them via email, complaint procedure and through my MP, I guess this takes some time to get feedback. I fear that I am already near 4 months and still not completed BRP. Looking at timeline it would take another 2-3 months after BRP, means I have long wait (more than 7 months).
Anyone had similar problem? any suggestion what else I should do?

Hi speed14 - firstly if they said they have no record of your application on their database I would personally begin to be seriously worried! Did you receive a letter saying they had recieved the application a week or something after you sent it? Secondly, if you read the application information you should have seen that (quoting from the guidance notes) "Please do not apply more than 28 days before completing that period. If you apply earlier than that, your application may be refused. If that happens, we will not refund the fee and you will have to pay again when reapplying" ...you posted on the 9th June but yoru current leave doesn't expire until 12th September... so... why did you apply early?
'Perhaps' what has happened - and this is just a guess - is because you applied too early, instead of refusing it, they have just put it in some sort of queue so they don't start to look at it until your current visa expiry date... so perhaps your 'obligatory' length of waiting time starts from then... just a stab in the dark really! _________________ Set(M) application sent off 26th June 2012... Thanks Leekybob, yes i have received acknowledgment letter soon after posting the applicaiton, but no communication after that. Reason for sending it in Jun is because i had been issued 27 months visa initially so my 2 years of residence as spouse visa was completed in Jun 2012 ( I confirmed the timings with UKBA before applying for ILR). |

Hi Speed... what a nightmare... I still don't know how long my wife's is going to take, every day I expect to go home to find it's had an attempted delivery but not yet unfortunately!
I'm surprised though that you applied before ours (we sent June 26th) and we got the Biometric Letter 18th August and luckily were heading into manchester that day anyway so just got it done there and then at the post office (think it cost £20 or £30 too but takes jsut a couple of mins).
I would try calling them again perhaps.... _________________ Set(M) application sent off 26th June 2012... Granted 11th October |

I'm not quite sure if this was because my mp wrote to ukba in August, or whether it was because I wrote a lengthy email on Monday stating my concerns over the lengthy wait...(29 weeks).
The letter stated, I have agreed to expediate your application at your request. Your application will be sent to a case team, where a caseworker will process your application. I cannot give you a timescale as to how long it will take o process, however you can hope to hear from us in the very near future.
So something worked, I wonder it was my email?
Let's hope we get good news soon |
Hi sahdi, which email address did you send the mail to and when did you send it? What reason did you state in the email for requesting an expedite action on the application?
Thank you in advance |
Hi bash100
I'm not sure if it was my email, but it's worth trying, I emailed them on SettlementOpspolicy@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and , I didn't ask for it to be expediated.
I sent the email on Sunday 22nd September we received a letter yesterday. I honestly think it was the mps intervention that has helped our case.

It seems the least they could do seeing as you paid the extra premium for the settlement checking service! ...I thought this service was meant to fast-track you and give some priority?
Either way, glad you finally got a result! _________________ Set(M) application sent off 26th June 2012... Granted 11th October |

Hi all,
37 working days after biometric is only for SET(O) application or for SET(M) application as well? It have been 30 working days that my wife has done biometric. Still waiting.
Cheers |

It has been way over 37 working days since several SET(M)applicants on this board, including me, had our biometrics done, and we have not yet received our BRP's. But I note that there are also SET(O) applicants for whom that is true. I am not at all sure that the claim about 37 days is correct, especially since in the letter I received about SET(M) applications submitted in the first week of June, it said that 509 applications had been received that week, and as of September 25th only 44 had been processed -- and then it said that all June applicants could expect a decision within 53 days! Obviously, as I noted in an earlier post, those two statements contradict each other.

It's incredible and also random. We've been waiting nearly 7 months since application but we felt confident after getting the biometric enrollment letter after 6 weeks. I have no idea how long we will have to wait with no information but as you say, may god help us all! |
