HI Guys,
I just called the HO to enquire about the progress of my application. After 20 minutes wait a good lady picked up my call and informed me that a biomeric form was sent out yesterday (22/10/2012).
I should get the letter in 5 working days or so. I believe people applied around the same date as mine should recieve thier letter soon.
My application progress date below.
SET(O) - 5 year workpermit
Application posted 22/08/2012
Date on Acknowledgement letter 31/08/2012
Date of biometric letter - Called the HO and biometric invitation letter sent out 22/10/2012
Date of approval - Still waiting
God bless us all. _________________ 5 year Work Permit Holder |

The number which is given on your acknowledgement letter - 08706067766. I selected the option or general query. If you select 'progress of your application' option, a recorded voice tells you to contact after 6 months and cuts the call.
I told the lady on the phone that I have applied for ILR 8 weeks ago and haven't recieved a letter for biometric enrolement yet and she checked for me if a letter was sent out.

| I am struggling to understand why people on this forum are complaining about how long their applications takes when they haven’t waited six months. If you want your application to take less than six months to process then you should have used the premium service. |

UKBA states in their acknowledgement letter not to make any calls during the application process, they leave us with no other option. Few applications processed so quickly and few straight forward ones take lots of time. So its better to know the progress of other applicants on the same timeline to get some hope.
Regarding the premium service, I know there are lots of them who made redundant appointments and crashed the purpose leaving many poor genuine applicants to rely on postal applications with fingers crossed. Its tough to stay blind for 6 months and people on this forum get some hope by knowing progress on other applicants who share the same timeline. Also complaints / Swearing... just another way to vent out helplessness. With kind of money UKBA loot from the applicants and for their poor services, the deserve nothing less. |

I agree with you. A thousand pound is a ridiculous fee. This is usually people's three months savings.
What I don't understand is that if the premium service takes couple of hours, how come postal service take 6 months??!! I can understand a month or two at max but 6 months is way too much unless your case is not straight forward.

I think before they brought up the BRP, the processing time was acceptable. What I don't understand is why UKBA doesn't ask the applicant to give their Biometric at the time of application? Well if they argue how could they make sure that the Biometric records are for the relevant people, why ask for 2 latest passport size photographs??? 2 months to get the BRP letter and another 2 months to get the application completed... This is so weird. |

The UKBA acknowledged on Nov11th,2012 that for the week between 18June to 24th, 2012 : 761 SET(M) Applications were received by post. So far, 101 of them were answered ( taking an average of 73 calendar days) and 660 are still pending.
Thank you all for your posts it kept me informed but boys (and Girls) I hate waiting. |
DX courier has just delivered by BRP . No news yet of my documents and passport. A nice sens of relief . I did not worry about getting it , it is the long wait (17 weeks) and the feeling of confinement, not being able to travel abroad as I do it every 3 months.
The courier said that a lady fell down on her knees crying when he delivered her permit this morning. It broke my heart... _________________ Si jeunesse savait, si vieillesse pouvait. |

I can see some June applicants have got theirs already...
My timeline:
Applied 15/6/12
Ack 21/6/12
Biometrics dated 31/07/12
Biometrics done 6/8/12
Approval.......waiting
I'm not planning to travel, and Home Office has done a 12months Right to Work Certificate to my employers, but I just want this wait to end!
Goodluck to everyone who like me are waiting...really love reading the good news bit when people get their approval. |

Congratulations to all the successful applicants. Can those posting, specify what set their ILR application relate(d) to, i.e if it is Set O or M or JR. it helps to give a better view of category of applications. As it is it is difficult knowing which successes are set 'O', which is my application category.
Is it worth suggesting maybe different threads for Set O applicants, set M applicants etc?
I sent my application on the 2nd of may 2012, did my biometrics in july and still waiting for home office to get back to me.
Any one else with similar time frame, who has not yet heard from HO? |

Thank you Justiceseeker, the thread has the header of ‘Set O and M’. It is not specific to Set O. Also it seems like it is for august applicants time line only. |
