Just request for everything. That is what I did if I recall correctly. |

I would not be too bothered about it. Once you have ticked "All data held by the UK Border Agency" it covers all information UKBA has on your file. You will be OK with that. |

Hi all,
I've received my ILR. The following is my timeline.
Application sent date: 23rd April 2012
Acknowledgement letter date: 30th April
Invitation for biometric date: 11th June
Biometric enrolment date: 18th June
BRP issued date: 9th September
Passport received date: 12th September
I applied through an immigration adviser. Documents submitted are photos, passports, three-month period bank statements, certificates from schools I've attended, and a tenancy agreement. My total absence from the UK was a little shy of 100 days and never exceeded the limit for single absence. My student visa was refused in January 09 but an appeal was allowed in March 09. The reason for the refusal was not satisfactory progress in my study (cannot remember the exact phrase). I used a solicitor at that time. There was a single gap of 9 days as I went back to my country to apply for a student visa. Apart from these, there had been no issue extending my student visa for 8 years and a 2 year PSW.
This website had been a great help to keep me sane. Thank you for everyone who shares their knowledge and information. I hope everyone waiting for their ILR will receive it soon. |

Just want to update the timeline.
Applied: 13 April 2012.
Acknowledgement letter was dated: Beginning of May, first week (sorry, just somewhere among papers, can't find right now)
Bio invitation is received: 3 July 2012 and done in the same day.
Today my immigration advisor rang to me and told my ILR has been approved and my Biometric card should arrive soon. 10 years student, once it was rejected due to my college's licence. I appealed in time though the gap was over one year. But everything was done within given time.
Did not request for SAR file as had all previous letters with HO. Only around 20 days absence.
Submitted docs are: LIUK test, passports, Police registration certificate and 3 months Bank statement.
So much relief, thank you for this forum. It was really very helpful to trace time. I wish everyone here Good Luck and hope you all will get your docs back soon!

I have to apply for my ILR on 10 year basis at in a few days. Just wanted take your help before I send my application.
Do I need any other supporting docs apart from the list below?
• Previous Passports
• Acknowledgement and Visas issue Letters received from HO in last 10 years
• Life in UK Pass Notification Letter
• 3 months bank statements
• 2 Photos
• A set of Photocopies of all supporting docs
What else do I need? I don’t have SAR cause i didn’t apply on time
Do I need a covering letter? I don’t have any gaps or absentees from UK. All my visas applications were made on time and extended on time.
Your help will be much appreciated. |

Hi
As far as I know, for application under long residence basis you need to have all your passports covering your stay in the UK and LIUK notification letter along with the completed form. As you have mentioned you do not have any gaps you do not need to worry about anything at all.

I have been following this topic for quiet a while to gather information. I have applied my ILR on 31.Aug.2012.
I have been in UK since Sep.2002.
Student: 2002 - 2007
IGS: 2008 - 2009
Tier 1 Dependent: 2009 - Present.
I have lost my first passport which I used to enter the UK but did submit all the copies of all the pages including the blank ones from the first passport except one blank page. I did not realise that I am missing one until I saw the page numbers on the copies.
I did request my SAR and luckily I got the first landing card(2002) and the copies of my passport that they have on file.
I also received all the letters from Home office about approved visa extensions.
I submitted all these documents and hopefully within six months I get the ILR.
I am hopeful that the Homeoffice wont question me about one missing photocopy of the page as they have all my travel history on their system.
Regards |
Hi , i dont think the home office will question you on ur lost passport. When u asked for SAR what box did u check please.Hopefully u will get ur ilr b4 6months . |
I ticked all the boxes, I even got the email transcripts i.e conversation between me and home office when i applied for the dependent visa in India.
the relevant person in India did not knew that i had to apply from India when changing from student to dependent and has asked me to go back to apply .
but i was told to go to India and apply and even the documentation states the same.
So i have all the conversation and me pointing out the relevant clauses in the documentation to home office and the person in india querying the UKBA for clarification.
It is shambles...
