Congratulations.
I think you meant Valid Until 14th May 2022. BRP is normally valid for 10 years from the date of application. You just have to renew it if you have not already naturalised by then.
On a separate note. Does it a have a valid from date. The reason I ask is to find out if you have to wait 1 year from today or 1 year from May 2012 to apply for British Passport.
Did you receive your biometric card as well as the documents today?
Regards |

Thank you mbnarayn
There is no valid from date, it got place and date of issue which is UK 27-10-2012
I received both of them today. Postman brought passport with documents and after few hours guy on motorbike brought BRP. |

I applied for long residency set (O) and still waiting for bio metric after 8 weeks. Here are my details:
Date of Application: 24/08/2012
Acknowledgement letter received: 03/09/2012
Biometric request received: Still waiting
Biometric given: Still waiting
Passport and BRP received: Still waiting
I know many of you who applied on 24 August have received their biometric request but I haven't yet. I'm not sure why. Is anyone in a similar boat? What do you think might be going on?
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I can see that many of late August applicants are getting their Biometrics invitation but don’t see any for late July up to mid-August.
Please share your timelines to share the pain.
Thanks,
Shad.
My timeline is:
Applied: 11th August.
Fee taken: 16th August.
Acknowledgment letter received: 21st August dated 16th.
Biometric invitation: Still waiting |

Its becoming frustrating, I applied in August 6 and up till now i haven't received an invitation for Biometric. And almost everyone that applied in late August got theirs
What could be happening to those of us that applied early August ? |

Hi All,
I have a query regarding filling the SET O form. I became eligible for 10 years long stay in August 2012. But I have a 2 weeks travel plan scheduled in November, after which I will apply for my ILR.
I was wondering while filling my absense from the UK mainland, do I have to include this 2 weeks holiday as well or is it only upto August 2012 that I have to mention in my form.
Thanks for your guidance in advance.

| Normally once you are eligible for 10 year long stay category at one point in time you remain eligible and you can delay your application. This would be okay although when it comes to immigration issues, it seems applying ASAP is the best. However why wouldn't you want to mention this 2 weeks holiday anyway? Does it tip the balance on your migration history? It looks like such a short holiday and wouldn't harm putting it in to the list of absences you have had over 10 years instead of ignoring it. |

Thanks for your reply Ged.
I had few business trips scheduled in August/September and now last one is in November. Hence couldn't apply for ILR when became eligible for it.
If I include August, September and November trips then it counts upto 8 weeks. I think I am still under the recommended holiday allowance, but with UKBA one can never tell. |

Looks like things are completely random at Home office. May be the case worker who has got the early August cases is on holidays or he/she may be doing full investigation before sending the Biometric invitation and after it we can get passports back early. Some my friends who applied Tier-1 extension received Biometric invitation late but got their passport and visa back within a week of submitting the biometric. Lets hope for the best.

Still very much here and checking this thread on a daily basis. Just that there is not much to report.
It has been almost 8 months since I made the original application, and keep chasing up UKBA on a weekly basis to be given the same response - No decision has been made yet, you need to continue to wait!
I've been in touch with my MP, whose prodding last time resulted in the application moving forward slightly and resulting in me getting the Biometric letter. I've recently asked him to intervene again, and am hoping that it brings about some result.
I have to say my MP has been quite helpful through all this, usually replying quite quickly to my messages though dealing with UKBA has taken a huge toll on my professional career and mental wellbeing.
All I can really do at this stage is to wait with bated breath and keep checking my letterbox... |

Hi,
Did you have any issues during your 10 year stay? any visa rejection, overstay, any financial issues? Please share your experience.
Thanks. |

| @smshad, I hope so. It will be nice if the same thing happens in our case as I intend to move house in December ending, I strongly hope to get my passport back before then. Because changing address with them might even cause delay as HO r callous organisation that toys with people's life and career. Its well |
