hello

I was issued spouse settellment visa in Dec 2009 and i arrived in the UK on Jan 2010. It is valid for 27 months....so two years from now my husband will be applying ILR for me.

He has already arranged for the following douments with in the first month
of my arrival to the UK in Jan of this year....

1) same GP & NHS practive card with same home address
2) joint bank account in my and hubby names with same home address
3) council tax bill has now both of our names on it
4) BT land line bill now also has both of our names on it....
5) My regional bus pass is also based on the same home address
6) My regional library card also has the same home address as my hubby's
7) We are taking lots of photos on each happy event of our lives together

However, he is yet to put me on the voters list for our region in the UK.

Please can some one advice me that what else documents will I be needing to support my ILR application.

Thankyou

Have you downloaded the form SET(M)? If not, suggest you do that, because that contains the list of documentary requirements.

Voters' list? Are you eligible? What is your nationality? If you are eligible, suggest you register immediately, otherwise you might miss out on your vote in the forthcoming elections.

You can find the SET(M) form on the website of the Home Office: http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/

There's information on who's eligible for the electoral roll here:

Hiya

Dentist letters are good. Bank letters, car insurance documents. Include your national Insurance letter. If you apply to take a driving test you can enclose those letters. Fill in an electoral role form, Im sure you are not eligible, but they will send you back a letter saying that you cannot register (it is still a valuable document). Get your husband to register also, and include his letter. My husband is currently one year away from ILR so I have been saving all the letters that we recieve. Its is amazing how many you can accumulate.

Good luck.

thank you all for your reply

I will be collecting the following documents over the two years wait....

1) joint bank account name
2) joint council tax name
3) joint BT bill name
4) joint BGas bill name
5) joint name NHS records with same GP
6) I will put my name on also on hubbys tenancy agreement &
get it renewed
7) My National Insurance Letter and number
8 ) Life in the UK test SUCCESSFUL result sheet

NOTE:...i do not want to do job in UK and i hate cars...so no driving needed there!....also its stupid to apply for electrol polling list when i can not even do it since im not a UK citizen...this action can lead to a negative impact on my ILR application.

They say u need from 3 different sources and 6 letters as supporting dox.
i think i have probably more than that...

so can any body please go through my dox list and kindly confirm that am i on the right path.

PEACE!

yes you have all the neccessary documents but if you read the form correctly you don't need all the documents to be in joint names.Just collect them over the 2 year period and you will be ok when you apply for your ILR

If you don’t inform them that you live and can NOT vote then I’ll affect your credit rating. You won’t be able to get a credit in 99% of the cases
although if you don’t work then you won’t be able to get it anyway Laughing

Actually as far as I know, all commonwealth citizens resident in UK are allowed to vote so there is no rule per se that one has to be a UK citizen to apply to be included in the electoral register.

Moreover, name in the electoral register is a good proof of residence and I don't think having your name in electoral register woud have a negative impact on your ILR application.

Newlife, you've already been given the advice that anything could change before you eventually apply for ILR.
Desperate Wife....when your 27 month visa expires in 2012, ILR will no longer exist, so the current SET(M) will not apply. Requirements for the new Probationary Citizenship due to be introduced in 2011 have not yet been released.

Dear Casa Moderator

thanks for the information.

Please can u post the web link where u got such information about the current ILR system being scrapped in 2011.

However im sure u can understand that there is no harm gathering these documents as what ever ILR system is introduced in 2011....the goverment would still most probably require some sort of supporting documents with the applicants ILR (or what ever it may be). Im sure that these documents are perhaps and will most likely remain the same requirements....

in 2011....i suspect that the SET(M) form layout may change and
the fees may go up and a different test for ENGLISH may be introduced...and blah blah...

so what do u all have to say to my thoughts....im sure u may all agree in the same.

PEACE!!
