Is there a time limit on how long the results of Life in the UK test are valid for?

I am eligible to apply for naturalisation in mid-Dec. Can I take the test as early as mid-Oct to get it out of the way?

I think the overall ethos of the test is good - however, it would not make anyone 'more' British.

Hundreds of thousands of people born in this country would not pass the test...

It is a step in the right dirtection, however, i dont see what it actually achieves...

Forexample - would doing the test have stopped say Jamaine lindsay from blowing up 26 souls on the London Underground? - me thinks not!

I phone one of these testing centre this afternoon and they told me its not available until around mid-October.

Answer 24 questions in 45 minutes. But I cannot find any infomration about how they judge the pass or failed. For example, if the correct answers is 16 or more, then pass, otherwise not. Anyway, anyone happen to know the criteria of pass?

The pass mark for the test is around 75%.

So if my maths is correct, one needs to answer a minimum of 18 questions correctly out of 24.

Hi,

Anyone have successfully booked a test this week or next week?

I contact several test centres including one located in London, but no one is available, nor confirm which exact date can start this test. Someone from testing centre told me said that home office is not yet totally settle and they still awaiting further confirmation from HO.

Well, considering that anyone applying for citizenship on or after 1 Nov will have to have pased the test, HO are leaving it a bit late, aren't they?

Today I called the Newbury test centre to book the test. The lady on phone told me that they have not yet started offering the test. Probably they will start offering it from Jan 2006.

She also told me to call back by end of this month. By that time the centre would have more information on the test start date.

I am sure I am not the only one starting to get very concerned by this. I shall contact an MP tomorrow and see if he is prepared to table a Parliamentary Written question to the appropriate Minister.

How on earth can the Government introduce a Citizenship Test if very few people are actually able to take it in the first two or three months.

Ok, I just successfully book a test on 21-Oct. But its not located in London area. I know some other test centres might not be available until the end of October.

The "life in the UNited kingdom book" is abotu 137 pages, i ws told by a lady at one of the NCS that i just need to read chapters 1,2 and 3 of it, and some where else i read that i need to read/learn chapter's 2,3 and 4.

can i just read chapters 1,2,3 and 4 and go for the exam.

there are so many names, henry VII, henry VIII(harry), chaucer, arthur and the dates 1066, 1215, and i am still in the first chapter. i am gonna get mixed up by the time i get to the end. (if i do, it is slow going)

Roger, I think it says on the website that :-

all the questions will be from chapters 2, 3 and 4
there will be no questions on history

So if chapter 1 contains the history you are currently reading then move on to chapter 2 !

i just got confused since the NCS lady told me to read chapter's 1,2,3

i guess i can safely ignore chapters other than 2,3,4 then, correct?
