I hope someone can shed some light on this ?

In section 1.1 its asking for "previous immigration and natiaonality directorate or border and immigration agency or uk border agency reference numbers"

Any ideas where i can find these numbers from ?

Section 5.2 (referees) asks how do the refrees know the applicant. Any pointers as to how much details are required in this field? Is writing a "colleague" enough or a more detail statement such as "i have known XX as a colleague working withing the same company)

I have need of advice regarding the AN form as Home office are not responding to my emails. I am applying as the spouse of a British citizen.

1/ Do I need to re-list the date of my marriage to my husband in box 1.43 even though I have given it in box 1.36?

2/ In section 2 part 2.2 Do I need to list all the countries that I had to travel through by coach for a holiday that visited a destination country? eg France, Switzerland to reach Italy. If so how to list as there isn't enough space in the box for all countries passed through to reach destination. (The trip involved overnight stays in France, but the date of departure and return to the UK will be the same, so seems like it should only be in one entry

3/ Section 3 part 3.1 I do voluntary work do I list this as an occupation, or should I put house wife? If I do list voluntary work as occupation do I list the name of my employer, Address of employer and what to put in box 3.5 when it is unpaid voluntary work?

Hi Guys,
Can some one please guide on what all documents are to be submitted when applying for British Citizenship. And also if any document in particular is needed if discretion for the last 1yr ILR period is required (been away for 200 days due to Business commitments, but fulfilled previous 5 yr stay).

Hello,

Regarding 2.1 where they want to see the arrival date with intention to settle in UK (as I understood from guidance). Could you please help me to figure out the date.
1) Student Visa Dec 2004 to Apr 2008
2) Got a dependent visa on HSMP husband in April 2008, received in UK without leaving country.
3) Got an ILR visa in Feb 2011

The question is which date should I insert into 2.1. Can I apply after 1 year
of ILR (Feb 20012)?

Hello Everyone,

I have same query as others had i.e. Date of entry and miscellaneous

1. I came to UK on student visa in sep'2003 after which I got 1 yr right to work but went back to my home country on 19th Nov'05 which was last day of my right to work.
I received HSMP approval in June 2006 (applied from Home country) and came back to UK on 16th August 2006 with a view to settle as HSMP was settlement visa.
So should I enter Aug2006 as Date of Entry as they mention with a view to settle or shall I use Sep'2003 as there is 10 months gap between my leaving in 2005 and re-entering in 2006 as I had no visa for UK ?

2. My wife also entered in Sep'2003 on student visa but went back to her country after completing her course in Sep'2004, she did came on visitor visa in 2005 for 2 weeks on holiday but then came back on student visa in Sep'2006. We got married in UK only on Aug'2007 after which she went back to her country to change status as dependent. As per rules, it seems they are only asking for 5 yr stay(aug2006-Aug2011) with last 12 months to be immigration free which we have (ILR granted on Aug'11), so is she eligible ?

3. What date of entry should I use on wife's form, I am assuming August 2006. Can someone confirm

Hi there

I already posted yesterday under a separate post with regards to my AN application but received a response to one portion of my question. The question surrounds references. As I don't really know a British professional who has known me for more than 3 years to give me a reference, will a reference from a British professional who has known me for at least 2.5 years suffice? Or is that just wishful thinking on my part and it has to be 3 or more years? The other reference is not a problem. I can't get one from my GP cause my health has never failed me, apart from the occasional cold, don't go to church, don't have an accountant cause I think I manage my money rather well and the list goes on. The only professional who appears on the list that I can get a reference from is a Director but he's since retired and I'm told his reference won't count.

I am aware than one from another nationality will suffice. However, will the HO allow me to submit a copy of the reference page, which was signed and scanned and emailed through and then printed off?

I would ideally like to submit my application by the end of the week but this is the only portion of the form that is holding things up for me. I have everything else already in place ready to be sent off.

Me and my wife received ILR on 9th AUG 2011. So my question is when can we submit our application for British citizenship. Can we submit it on 10th July 2012 or we have to wait till 9th August 12 to send the application form.

You gotta complete 1 year before apply. so apply after August. Also check for other requirements.

some below:
been resident in the UK for at least five years (this is known as the residential qualifying period); and
been present in the UK five years before the date of your application; and
not spent more than 450 days outside the UK during the five-year period; and
not spent more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months of the five-year period; and
not been in breach of the Immigration Rules at any stage during the five-year period.
