switching from workpermit to Tier 2

Post by kalidas » Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:47 pm

i am on work permit visa since 2006 April, expires on april 2011. I enter into UK after 6 weeks time from the visa start date.

So i am not eligible for ILR.

to extend my visa do i need to apply for Tier2 (General) or any other category?

if i am in same job & same employer, still do i need certificate of sponsorship???

how to apply for this certificate of sponsorship??? (by employer)

thanks.

Tier 1 Genereal or Tier 2 General are your two options

Keep in mind Tier 1 General will be abolished on April 6th.

New Tier 2 General rules will be enforced on April 6th.

You can easily switch to Tier 2 if your employer is registered with UKBA as you fall into preferred category as far as allcation of COS is concerned

Yes, you need to satisfy tier 2 Genereal criteria to be awarded tier 2 visa

I think you are covered under the three months period (between the date of visa and date entered UK) as detailed in the revised guidance below.
