Child born in India, which visa ?

Post by abhijoshi09 » Tue Apr 26, 2011 9:45 am

Dear friends,

I am on UK workpermit and my wife on Work Permit depepdent visa. We have been living in UK for last 3 years. My wife wanted to have delivery in India, so she went back to India in October last year and we are blessed with a baby boy. Now my wife and son both are in India, and I am in UK.

My wife already has workpermit dependent visa.

So my questions are :
1. Which type of visa should I get for my child ? UK visa website does not mention this clearly. I am hoping this as WP dependent visa.
2. Sometimes if child is born for parents who already have valid UK visa then there is no visa or visa fees required. Is this true ?
3. I searched through UK embassy in India website and there is no mention of WP dependent visa details for child

Appreicate the help.
Thanks,
Abhijit Joshi

1. If you are a WP migrant, then use VAF2. If you are a Tier 2 migrant, then use VAF10.
2. No.
3. As mentioned in 1 above.
