Application (F)LRM sent to UKBA 2nd July
Application Received/signed for 4th July
Biometric Request Letter received August 28th(ish)
Biometrics enrolled 3rd September
Confirmation letter: Still waiting
BRP: Still waiting
Passports etc: Still waiting
No-one at UKBA has contact us to say they have issues with the application or that they need more information so I'm hopeful that that means it's progressing fine.
I am reticent to contact UKBA to chae in case they think I want my passport back and it voids my wife's application but it is frustrating not having any form of photo id for her.
One question I have - if we miss the delivery and have to go and collect it somewhere how do I prove who my wife is as the only photo ID she has is in the parcel (passport and old BRP)?
Anyway just thought I'd add my dates to this thread.
Good luck to everyone that is waiting for visa news |
Hello mate,
Dont worry bout the parcel because if you miss it then there are 2 options which are - either you can get that rescheduled for delivery wt home address or go to collect it. If she has to go to collect it as parcel wil be in your wife's name then both royal mail and dx( brp courier co) they accept a valid ( signed and not expired) credit or debit card as a proof of id/signature to give you the parcel. So i am sure your wife might have either of them as you mentioned that shes in uk since 2009. Good luck
Im still waiting and tomo- 08/10 will complete 8 months since i applied.
Good luck everyone-

Cheers waitwaitwait,
That's reassuring. My wife does have a valid bank card. it was just a photo id that she's lacking.
Good luck with your application. Hope your stuff comes through soon. |

I can confirm that this individual is currently entitled to stay and work in the United Kingdom on the basis of an outstanding application for leave to remain in the United Kingdom.

What??? Help me out here Meche83. What was your previous visa as it must have had some authorization to work prior to your FLR(M) application. From what I read on UKBA and everybody here (so far) that has applied for FLR(M) they cannot work or even volunteer. Can you fill in some blanks please? |

Not true. e.g in my case I am switching from Tier1 dependent to FLR (M), and I was eligible to work and I am still eligible to work while my application is being considered. |

Ah, mine is from Fiance visa to FLR(M). There was no previous authorization to work. Your Tier 1 status gave you pre-existing approval to work. That makes sense. Wish I had that as this is taking forever and I would LOVE to work. |

This is what I found about a unique Reference Number:
Unique reference number
When you save or submit your online application form, we will send a confirmation email to the email address that you supplied in your application security details. This email will contain a unique reference number (known as a GWF).
You should make a note of your GWF. You will need it to log in and access your saved form. We will not be able to assist you if you do not know your GWF. |

I don't think I asked the quesiton in a way that will get me a good answer. But this is what happens after 7 months of frustration! |

| LE80, I think you asked the right questions. Now we can wait about 20 days to find out what they write to you. So very curious what your reply will be. |

I m impressed the way you ask the questions, it's mine 7th month as well 27 th feb and as for as I can see my application was pretty straight forward. Will look closely and do the same if I haven't heard any news on mine although I have sent a complaint without any acknowledgement.

Thanks both but I think for the second part of the question, at best they will just say that some cases are complex and are taking longer. Since they won't define a complex case, or tell an applicant when their case is considered complex, I have no evidence on which to challenge that sort of answer, which we know to be untrue.
I am getting worried because we plan to spend Christmas in Australia, something which is important to the family. I think we will have to consult a solicitor about the implications of cancelling the application (after all this time) and then applying from within Aus.
I hate that it has gotten to this, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would take this long, and I would like some answers. |

Hi all,
My girlfriend and I have been following this forum for a while.
She is Australian and was in the UK on a youth mobility visa (expiring in July 2012). She submitted the spousal visa application in May and we were slightly worried about getting the documents back, as we planned to go travelling in November to Russia.
We were advised that one way to hurry up simple applications was to ask for the passports to be returned for ID purposes only. Apparently the UKBA have to return your docs if you need them for identification. We made sure they understood that the application was not being withdrawn and they were fine with returning both passports.
8 days later the passports arrived, along with notification that the residency permit would be delivered. 4 days later this arrived.
Might not work for everyone, but is certainly worth a try. |

|

Hi there -
Update on my case which is turning out to be a nightmare.
Has anybody after a long wait received their application back as invalid with all documentation returned? I applied 3 July online with online payment and all my documentation was returned stating I used the incorrect version of the form? I cannot see how this is possible if I used the online method.
I assume this leaves me in a position where I will have to re-file a new application under the new rules? It is so frustrating having all the documentation returned with an application that I would have categorised as a very easy application!
Any advice or similar status information will be appreciated. |

I don't see how the form could be the wrong one either. We applied online in June, had the acknowledgment letter after 10 days and the biometrics in August. Nothing since - I hope they won't return it as invalid as my husband would then have to leave the country since his fiancé visa has expired.
Someone else posted on here that they applied online and it was returned as invalid. Their solicitor wrote back saying that if that was the case it was their fault for putting the wrong form online. Not sure if going to a solicitor is an option for you? Gets expensive but perhaps worth getting some initial advice? |

Dsin - I agree. At the time of my application I chose the FLR(M) application document that was available online.
When I say Online application - it is an electronic form that you can fill in like an active /editable PDF document. After the document is completed you pay online and it generates the PDF document that you then print out and post to them with all your supporting documents.
I did seek legal advice today and will make a decision in the morning. I am on a ICT tier 2 visa at the moment but will have to stop work with no income until this is resolved. It feels unbelievable that their actions can have such profound impacts on people’s lives.
I will really appreciate if anybody that applied in July can share their document version number with me. The form I completed was version 2.0.4. |

| highly skilled wrote: | So our biometrics letter arrived today and we have already enrolled our biometrics! Our new timeline is:
Application submitted: 26 June 2012
Acknowledgement received: 3 July 2012 (dated 29 June 2012)
Biometrics letter received: 8 August 2012 (dated 3 August 2012)
Biometrics enrolled: 8 August 2012

Planning to send out another letter requesting urgent treatment for my (sponsor) passport and for the whole application just in case.

We're also on the same timeline - applied on June 10th online, payment taken the same day and biometrics enrolled on 7th August. Haven't heard anything since.
Will post on here if we do get any news. Frustrated that later applications are being resolved sooner - can't imagine how all those waiting since Feb/Mar must be feeling. There doesn't seem to be any recognition of the fact that people's entire lives are on hold waiting for the visa to come through. |
