No link, because it's paywalled and I bought a paper copy. There isn't really anything else new in the article.

I rewound the interview on the show and what she says on the andrew marr show is that the higher standard english language test will be 'from next year'. that doesn't seem to apply to the salary requirement

A statement has been published here. However, all it says is that an oral statement will be made later.

If you have freeview or digital tv you should have BBC parliament as a channel - ministerial statements are on now. Home Sec should be next.

She's on now. Confirmed changes to take place from 9th July. Statement of intent to be published today. Statement of changes (where the new rules are set out in detail before parliament) to come later - these will have to come at least 21 days before 9th July.

Hmmm, it's the details that matter really. We'll learn soon then I suppose.

wonderful it seems that the 5 year period is not guaranteed but that applicants will have to go through 'renewal' processes during that time. Families will have certainty at all of being able to stay together - makes plannng a life together pretty hard!

If anyone is watching Mrs May this legislation is going to take place as soon as possible,I am horribly disappointed with the Labour party.

A Lib Dem MP says "the government must be firm but fair and so I welcome the threshold that was eventually agreed" - I suspect that is code for saying that the Lib Dems refused to accept a higher limit than £18,600.

So we've got a week to wait for the "fine" detail.

Apparently I can't get streamed content at work, so I'm going to have to wait for the written statement, or until I get home.

Or just give up and watch the football instead Laughing
