Hi Guys,
It would be good to have separate thread to discuss about minor naturalisation application.
Please share if someone recently got an approval or has applied for naturalisation.
I have applied for my child on 1/09/2011 and application has reached to INIS office:) Waiting for acknowledgement letter.
Has anybody applied last month for minor naturalisation?
cheers |

Thanks IQU. It seems it is taking time nowadays in getting acknowledgement letter. One of my friend applied for spouse naturalisation and he is still waiting for last 3 weeks for acknowledgement letter. |

I phoned them yesterday to find out why I am not getting any acknowledgement that they got the application and they said that they have a large mail backlog.
She checked and the application was not even in the system yet and I mailed it out 4 weeks ago. Worried now that it may have gone missing....
Anyway, I asked how long a minor's application will take and she said about 1 year ?!? Thought normal apps was down to 6 months and surely a minor's should be processed even quicker? |

| it just shows what it being prioritised at the moment. it's the processing of applications, therefore all staff resources are probably drawn to the processing, leaving new applications, minors and certs being left behind... |

| i got my knowedlment letter after 6 weeks.but time for naturation will be remain same .your child application is with new batch.so once they will clear the backload till spring next year/march 2012.than they going to touch the new applications.there main proirty is clearling the backload right now.but you never know from citizenship divsion.because for minor application they dont need any check like gardai, socail welfare etc.so it might be quicker.please dont forget to share yours experience later stage with us.good luck |

hi guys,
today i got acknowledgement letter from INIS for minor naturalisation application. I had sent docs on 1/09/2011. There is no mention of timeline for the approval of minor application in the letter. Does anybody know how long it takes to get approval for minor?
cheers |

I rang INIS today asking about my son's reference numebr as I applied fro him 3 weeks ago and the lady on the other side tole that they have 4 weeks backlog regarding the post, that's only an information for you all.
and when I asked her when it is expected to get a reply fom them she told me without a reference numebr she can't tell anything but she said that they did not open the files of 2011 (which is a lie, there are many people her in the forum of 2011 and they got approval)
when I told her that is also for minors she said they started checking application from early 2011.
I think what is she saying is from the top of her head. _________________ peace on you |

| maybe you are right.but i know friend of mine got his approval.he applied in jan 2011.i heard some people who applied in late 2010 early 2011 got their approvals already.there is hardly any case left in 2007-2009 batch.they have 2 months i think all the backload will be clear till xmas.because all the staff back from holidays also there is some new starting in citizenship divsion.its also good sign people not getting theirs knowedlment letter within 2 weeks like a past year.citizenship dvsion is very busy to clearing the backload.good luck |

NO NO that is not correct in our area 75%-80% People from 2007 and 2008 are still waiting for their approvals and 25% People from 2009 and 2010 have got their Certs. _________________ PIKKA |

Hi
I have applied for child’s naturalisation application last month. I got the acknowledgement today (almost 7 weeks).
I gather from previous posts that it will take 6 – 12 months for processing the applications.
Can somebody who’s child’s application has been approved recently, share their experiences please. Is it one of the parents that need to go for the ceremony now?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, |
