This is the email I've received from Visa Application Center today

According to The British High Commission requirement, we are accepting both Nikka Nama Original Nikka Nama and Marriage Registration Certificate (MRC), we reqiured just stamp from the “Union Concil” on these papers and your attachement of MRC is fine and further process will be done by The British High Commission.

My wife submitted on 31st October'2011 and it showing application submitted to embassy for processing ? whats your status? please share.

English translation is not needed? Just a Union Stamp?

Sallams all, sorry for gate crashing this thread! But I'l be applying for my wife's ilr in the next 4 weeks, I have just noticed on our nikkah Nama it only says nikkah registrar, there is no council union stamp! Also it's in Urdu, so I was going to get it translated to English, but by reading this thread do I need the union council stamp on it as well? As I was totally unaware of this! My wife has been in the uk for nearly 2 years now on the spouse visa,

Union Councils exist in Urban and rural areas but not in the federal or cantonment areas.Because you live in federal area, there must be a body who register nikah namas. You can ask registrar who prepared your nikah nama.It must be translated by a certified translator like Naeem Translation in Ayub1 Market G-8 Markaz. Also obtain one FRC from NADRA which is very good for embassies.

can anyone please help me out in explaining what a union council stamp would look like? is it the round shape stamp which says UC and a no?

I am applying for just Business visit visa but lady on the phone said that I need to attest my nikah nama from concerned UC (where I live). My permanent address is different, Nikah was in Islamabad, what should I do? My wife will not be travelling with me and I am not applying her visa.

Should I just skip it?

my other half is from jehlum and me from lahore,
i simply paid few blue papers(notes) to one nikah registrar in session court lahore, and he register the nikah nama in town ship, where hardly i would had been trwice in my entire life since born in lahore.(lollz)

this was really funny, but the thing is it does not matter, either you got it done from pir murad jamali or lahore or jehlum or abc xyz, this does not make any issue for any one untill unless, one is from the same city

also
important things to note are make sure your spells, address, name , dob, father name, etc are same as of other documents, make a cross verification from your other documents, cross check them( highly sensitive in terms verifying your personal info by UKBA.

so be careful on it.
