ILR Correspondence

Post by Moojs » Wed Jun 05, 2024 4:02 am

Good morning, just trying to get ahead and wanted to check this would be correct for ILR Correspondence in the future - I read that it needs to be 2.5 years of Correspondence or since last leave ? so

Bit of a back storey - My wifes FLR was granted 4/1/23 (on BRP)
We left doing the FLR quite late on her original spouse visa so she would of been in the UK 5 years on 6 March 2025 (FLR running out in July 2025) but we plan to apply April 2025

so below is what I'm thinking for the Correspondence

January 2023 - Barclaycard Statement (Me) & Post Office Statement (Wife)
Jun-2023 - Smile Account Statement (Me) & Nationwide Account Statement (Wife)
Nov-2023 - Nationwide Account Statement (Me) & Coventry Savings Statement (Wife)
May-2024 - JOINT Anglain Water Bill
Oct-2024 Probaby these items - Money Box Savings Statement (Me) & Secure Trust Savings Statement (Wife)
Mar-2025 - JOINT Council Tax

Early April 2025 Apply for ILR

If anyone could have a look and see if this would be ok or any suggestions that be great
Thankyou

You can actually apply if you wanted in February, 2025. 28 days before her 5th year anniversary of when she entered the UK.

But your documents seems fine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Thankyou Ticktack, we chose April for a reason but its always good to know incase we can do it earlier thankyou :)

one more question hopefully you or someone may answer

My wifes visa BRP and Right to work share code thing give her Issue date as 4/1/23, so can we use a electric bill that has a statement date of 5/1/23 as its a much better looking thing than the post office statement we currently have as it has no use for the month before so the credit use is £0 on it (so it looks like a unused account) or does it matter aslong as its just addressed to her, they dont really care whats on it ? obviosely its still a end of year credit card statement so the last page has how much she used in the previous year :)

Credit use or balance is not relevant, this is not what is being checked but that it is addressed to her at an address.

5 Year Date Question for ILR Spouse

Post by Moojs » Wed Feb 19, 2025 5:09 am

Good morning,

Hopefully someone could confirm If I have my dates correct for a ILR application for my wife as I would hate to fall short..

When we applied for her extension it was very close towards the end of the visa (still in date @ application), but expired shortley after (I was told about protection 3c for jobs) but Is this time that her visa was in application but technically expired waiting for the decision still classed as usable time for the ILR Application or did it end @ visa expiray and restart once the extension was issued? ...

The time frame

Spouse Visa Issued 29-Feb-2020
Arrived to the UK 6-March-2020
Visa expired 29-Nov-22

Applied for Extension 18-Nov-22
Visa Issued 04-Jan-2023
Visa Expiray Date - July 2025

We plan (due to dates to collect a new council tax bill and some other bits) to apply middle of march 2025 as if all the time she would of been here 5 years + some days

Thankyou for any help :)

Section 3C extends your visa automatically. All the time spent waiting is then lawful and counts
