A Question About ILR Eligibility

Post by Haystacker2 » Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:34 pm

My great aunt was granted limited leave to remain based on private life, valid for two and half years, in 2012. She was told in the letter granting her this she would be eligible for ILR after 10 years, meaning she would have renew her 2.5 years, thee more times.

She is now preparing to apply for her ILR but is concerned that there may be gaps in the time she has been renewing her 2.5 years. She thinks she may have applied late on one or two occasions

My question is, how can she find out for sure if she has any gaps as this will affect her ILR eligibility, and as everyone knows, ILR application is not cheap.

Thank you

By making a ‘Subject Access Request’ (SAR)
