About EEA Family Permit - A few questions

Post by Luizbamorir » Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:28 pm

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but I have read a lot of posts in here and all your answers have been very helpful! Here's the situation: I'm Colombian and my wife is too, but she holds a German passport. She is already in Bristol since early April and I'm planning to meet her soon, hopefully on late May. I'm doing my online application of the EEA FP, which is the best option for me to be with her. Once I have my permit and would be able to travel to the UK, I would intend to apply for the Residence Card (EE2) - (as expected by UKBA, I guess).

So, a couple of questions came up by filling the online form:

1. In the field "How long do you intend to stay", should I answer 6 months? As I said, I intend to stay in the UK permanently, but since the FP allows me only a 6 months term, I think the best answer is 6 months, in order to avoid a refusal. Am I right?

2. If I answer "6 months" in that field, should I book a return ticket to Colombia? Would UKBA be satisfied with my 6 months permit and a one way ticket?

Thank you very much for your time. Thanks in advance!

All the best.
