About to make an April HSMP application

Post by daveee » Thu Apr 12, 2007 2:17 pm

Hi All,

I'm about to submit my HSMP application and I'm a little nervous :? I'm not pleased to see the fee has gone up to £400 too eek. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Status: In country (worked 11 months of Working Holiday Maker visa)

Total Points Claiming: 85
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree- 30 pts (from an Australian university)
Previous Earnings:
- 30 (Claiming for wages earnt in the UK on WHM Visa)
UK Experience
- 5 pts (worked 11 months/ 2 jobs in UK)
Age
- 20 pts

Documents that I will submit
- Cover Letter

Qualifications:
- Original Degree Certificate
- Original Letter from Institution (states my degree was taught in English)
- Original academic transcript

Previous Earnings
- Wage Slips - These are in a security sort of break open slip from a UK company but don't have company logo on them. They do state the company name though
- Bank Statements (I will highlight my salary being paid in)
- Letter from employer stating current wage, gross amount earned, job title and saying that the company I work for is not yet able to produce a P60 form

Age Assessment
- Original Birth Certificate
- Original full driving license
- Notarised copy of passport

English Language
- Degree
- Letter from university saying degree was taught in English

I am a little concerned about my earnings criteria as work can't provide me with a P60 this month despite it being end of financial year in the UK. Will I have any problems with the bank statements and letter from employer as I don't want to make a £400 mistake. I have also changed jobs last year so I'm not sure if I will need to send them my P45 from my last employer?

In regards to the working holiday maker visa, should I wait until I've worked 12 months in the UK before applying or should I apply now? I was a little worried about working past 12 months as this is all I am supposed to work on this visa type. Can I still work over 12 months if my HSMP is being processed?

Thanks all.

Dave

After numerous emails with HR, I still can't get a P60 produced this month due to some sort of problem with the payroll system so that means no ITR.

I can get them to produce a statement of earnings & a letter saying why they can't give me a P60 yet.
I will also submit bank statements, letter of current salary, employment contracts and my P45.

Will this suffice? :?

Also, I am only claiming for 11 months of wages from working in the UK which will give me more than enough points. Do I need to claim a month from back home as well?

Thanks again all!

You could not substitute P60 with other documents, this is clearly mentioned on the guidelines. If you could not provide it, give a strong reason why you could not provide this piece of evidence.

why do not wait until end of this month If you could not get P60 produced this month. It is better to wait rather then taking high risk of rejection.

P60's aren't required to be sent out until the end of May by law.
My current visa is also ticking down hence the reason I need to apply ASAP.

You have me worried now :(

daveee - I am in the same situation. I have all the paperwork in place and my application ready to go, but still don't have my P60. I have held off submitting my application purely on the basis that many have said a P60 is mandatory.

I think one alternative may be submitting an online self-assessment (tax return) with HM revenue. I assume if you knew the figure on your P60 you could do this? However you still will most likely some sort of ceritifed tax statement as evidence.

I pretty much my HSMP in place within 6 weeks or I am out of work. I don't want to risk sending my my application without a P60 and being rejected... and delaying me further.
