Adding child to application

Hello,

My situation:
US Citizen
Wife is british citizen ( never settled in the uk though)
currently in the US
2 kids under 18

I just finished my application for my spouse visa. I'm trying to figure out how to apply for our children as well. I keep seeing thigns on websites saying you have to apply for them separately, but when I'm filling this child visa application out it doesn't seem to fit our situation.

for example: One of the first questions is "Give details about your parent who is currently applying for (or already has) limited leave to enter or remain as a:

partner of a settled person; or
parent of a settled child

Neither of these apply, and there's no other option.

It then asks for the applying parents occupation and income in Pounds, but were in the US and coming over without jobs because we're using cash savings.

Am I filling the right application out? It just seems off.

Any question which doesn't apply to you, write a cover letter to explain it.

Please answer the question raised by Manci above about whether your wife was born in the UK or abroad? because if your wife was born in the UK, both of your children will automatically be British citizens.
