Additional sponsor

Post by meha » Mon Oct 10, 2011 6:59 pm

I have a friend, a British Citizen, pregnant and due in early December 2011.
Her husband, currently overseas has been refuzed twice (first time on settlement application because his wife was under 21; second time as a family visitor).

Since the wife is not working (currently on income support and housing benefit) and not able to sponsor her husband on family visit,
can someone else stand as sponsor (a relative or a friend)?
Is third party allowed in these circumstances?

She is desparate to haver her husband close to her for those difficult days.

Many thanks.

If its a family visit, then it has to be a close relative of the applicant. If its a friend, then it will have to be a general visitor visa. The difference is that whilst you can appeal against a family visit refusal, you don't have that right in the latter

No

In view of previous refusals of her husband applications, I think any type of visit irrespective of who sponsors him is unlikely to succeed in view of above :(
Many thanks.
