Addressee Query

Post by vishaln » Sat Apr 30, 2011 11:21 am

Hello All,
I am a software engineer currently working with a reputed MNC in India.
I have been offered a job by a UK based firm who have obtained a certificate of sponsorship in my name.

I am as such required to file for my Tier2 General Visa using the above.
I have all the required documents except that I am completely stuck with one piece
As proof of my service of employment document, I have got print-outs of my past 1 year payslips and have them duly authenticated from my company.
However as my company doesn't seem to provide payslips on company-headed paper, I am required to provide a letter additionally from my company confirming the authenticity of the payslips.
So far everything is fine, but the catch is (as confirmed with VFS) that this letter provided by current company has to be addressed to the British High Commission. Addressing it like 'To whomsoever it may concern' is not acceptable.
I am complete stuck with this as
1) Asking my company HR to address the letter to British High Commission is as good as resigning from my current job in India. I intended to resign only after the surety of receiving my UK Visa.
2) Even if I resign now, I am not sure whether my company will entertain my request and provide a letter addressed to the British High Commission.

I am in complete dilemma here with regards to the next step here.
Appreciate if anyone can suggest me a way out of this. Quick response will be highly appreciated.

Thanks..

1. There is no such requirement.
2. If you are not changing from Tier 1 (PSW) to Tier 2(General) with the same employer / sponsor, I don't see why you need to provide payslips from your current / previous employer.

Read the Tier 2 policy guidance carefully.
See also Supporting documents -> Guidance for Tier 2 General (skilled worker).
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Thanks a lot mate..
That really sorts me out...This a good example of many people (myself, company travel-desk, vfs, etc) over-complicating simple things :)
Looking forward to having a better conversation with all of them soon and take this forward....thanks again...
Cheers......
