Advantage of British citizenship

Post by Seblep » Wed Mar 25, 2009 2:29 pm

Hello,

I am French and have been living in UK for more than 6 years therefore entitled to British citizenship.
I am wondering what are the advantages of a British citizenship over a French one as both countries are part of the EU?

Is it easier to get a working visa (not a working holiday visa) in the Commonwealth countries when you are British? For example, is it easier to live and work in Australia with a British passport than a French?
Then I've heard that there might some benefit advantages but what are they exactly?

Thanks for your help!
Seb

Maybe there is an analogue of Working Holiday Visa for young british passport holders in AU, but as far as I know, if you wish to settle in AU you will have go through general procedure as other nations do.
Good luck !
