Advice on Multi Entry Schengen Visa

Post by Darcey » Fri Feb 17, 2006 10:56 am

I am an Australian National with a Work Permit lasting another two years.

My wife is a Sri Lankan National, with a Dependent Work Permit for the UK, and therefore requires a Schengen Visa to visit Europe.

We are hoping to visit Europe a number of times in the next few months and we are after some advice regarding a Multi Entry Schengen Visa.

So far we only have one trip booked and confirmed, but we are hoping to manage to get a multi entry visa, and to avoid having to apply for a new visa for every trip.

Will it be possible to get a multi entry visa based on this one booking?

If not does any one have any ideas of what is required to gain a multi entry visa?

Will we have to book a number of trips before we apply?

Any advice would be welcome.

P.S.We will be making the inital visa application at the French Embassy

Yes you can get a multiple entry visa based on one trip - I've done it loads of times. You don't need any extra documents, just make sure you tell the person interviewing you that you want a multiple entry visa. And your travel insurance must cover the period you want your visa for - very important!
