Advice please

Good evening to you all,
My husband arrived in UK on 21st March 2015, on his 1st spousal visa, he gained employment almost immediately. Our problem is, that he is due to make his application for ILR but our living arrangements have changed. Will being temporarily seperated affect his application in any way?
We have seperated due to my latest decline in health and my inability to accept my diagnosis.
Any advice/help/guidance will be gratefully received.

He needs to prove that the relationship is still subsisting. He needs cohabitation documents
