Advice/Suggestions on Family Visa on the basis of Private Life

Post by foreverconfused » Thu Aug 31, 2017 12:44 pm

Hello all,

I am looking at applying for the Family Visa on the basis of Private Life. The following is my brief story:

I am a recent graduate from a university. I have been on and off living in the UK for nearly 6 years on Tier 4 visas whilst I was doing my A-levels at boarding school and music undergrad degree at university. I have achieved fantastic results in my academic life; made great and deep friendships with my fellows and friends; also have great contacts for work, and potentially with a job offer too. I am also a musician that would like to further my music education and career in the UK and have a plan of achieving that. I would be redundant if I ended up goin back to the country where i am from as there is virtually no classical music exposure. I barely have any existing friendship back there, i am also very detached from the culture and definitely regard the UK as home. Being a homosexual individual also means that I would be discriminated in my daily life and career.

Do you guys think I have a strong case? Please comment below, I would really appreciate your thoughts!

If you are a gifted musician, why not try for the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa instead.

FLR(FP) is likely to fail to be honest and is not the easiest visa to get.

Thanks CR001 for replying. Can you provide more info as to why you think the case is not strong enough? Would there be anything else I could've made it stronger?

Thanks again, I really appreciate your input!

If you don't have family, spouse, children etc in the UK or lived here for a substantial time, there aren't really any other exceptional reasons that would 'guarantee' you a visa. Having friends in the UK is not sufficient. Only living here 6 years also likely not sufficient.

What is your nationality?
