Post by worldsexy101 » Sat Jan 11, 2014 8:29 pm

Greetings to you all My name is Alex am married since 2011 am Nigeria ,I got married to a british wife in Nigeria 2011 september I arrive the UK 2012 ,I have been issued with a spouse visa and stamped below indefinite leave to enter the UK,when I explained this to the home office in the UK, I was informed that a mistake must have been made in lagos ( Nigeria ) I have contacted the home office which they advise me to contact the nigeria british embassy which I have done that and I sent them an email and below is the response I received from them 2 days ago ,Please can someone explain to me clearly the meaning of their email below, Also my international passport expires 2016 ,Also according to the home office in Croydon I called their office and spoke to them , They stated that there's nothing the home office can do because I have served my 2 years and I have to wait for 1 more year to and apply for naturalisation , My fear is that am going back to nigeri this May for a wedding I want to know if am going to have any trouble when coming back to the UK .
Below is the email from the nigeria embassy
=============================================================================================================
Dear Mr. Aex
Thank you for your email.

This case was referred to an Entry Clearance Officer and it was observed that the wrong endorsement was issued to you. Although your visa has a time limit, the indefinite leave to enter issued you takes precedence so you can remain in the United Kingdom on it and travel using this visa.

You are free to apply for naturalisation once you have been in the United Kingdom for the required length of time. In the interim, you may contact the Home Office to see if you can apply for a residence permit to enable you have a valid document to move around with.

Yours sincerely,

BK

It means they erred and you're lucky, you have ILE which is akin to ILR and once you've been in the UK for 3 years you can apply to naturalise as British subject to KoLL - LIUK and B1 English.

ECOs in Lagos are well known for the frequent mistakes they make (pressure of work or the heat?).
