After Biometrics

Hi,
I gave biometrics on 21 of March and I am wondering how long it will take to get the passport back as I need to apply US visa to attend a scientific conference on 14th of April. Can anyone say whether it is realistic? I sent the online invitation letter and details of the conference with my application. It is a very important academic event for me as I have a presentation there. I note in this forum some mentioned they got passport back in 2-3 weeks.
Can I send a request again to UKBA asking to expedite? What is the general chance of not getting visa after biometrics? Thank you very much for help with information. :?:

i have seen my friends who got the passport back after 3-4 weeks, after thy gave the biometrics. it is very difficult to guess exact timelines as it depends on individual case. but 3-4 weeks looks ideal.
