Residency proof for the final year?

Post by Leo99 » Sun Jul 09, 2023 6:34 pm

Hey guys,

If am submitting application in July, What's residency proof I can submit? There is no eds or welfare statement yet for 2023. Only proof I can submit is bank statements.

Bank statements should do it - it's type A proof.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.

That's just 50 points right? Need 150 for the year. Not sure how to find the other 100

Are you looking at the current scoresheet or an old one? Proof A (bank statements) is worth 100 points. You’ll need to add Proof B for 50 as well.

They have another score card linked in this page under proof of identity which shows the point distribution

It’s the same document: ‘Citizenship Guidance Document’, a 14 page pdf. It was issued in late May 2023. You need Proof A (worth 100 points: proof of economic activity, your bank statements fit here) and Proof B (50 points, proof of residential activity) for each year. They are different proofs to identity.

Other scoresheets, issued earlier, (which offered proofs including eg university records, GP visits, dog licences) are now outdated and not valid for the naturalisation application. If you see that document still listed anywhere ignore it- they’ve just failed to update the link. Specifically, the spreadsheet with two pages available under proof of identity is current for proof of identity, but ignore the second sheet listing residency proofs- that list is no longer accepted.

Aah, okay. That makes sense. Thanks a million. For rent agreement in section b, do I have to show payments for 6 months in an year too or is just the agreement enough?

They’ve been unhelpfully vague on that, but enquiries sent to their help line have suggested one document per year is sufficient. So eg year 1 could be lease agreement. Year 2 the RTB agreement relating to same lease (as long as issued in year 2), etc. Year 3: 3 months rent receipts from year 3. This scoresheet is still too new for us to have much feedback as to how they are interpreting it to know for certain unfortunately. In that slightly unknown environment one doc per year per Proof A/B is what most people are going with.

I have rent agreement from 2018 and am still renting same place, so hopefully that plus payments will be okay.
