allocation of local authority housing

Hello, my wife and her son (my step son) is here on a 2 year marriage visa he has a one year visa, the council have offered us a 2 bed flat with a housing association. The application is in my name and the flat will be in my name too. Will this make a problem when she applies for indefinate leave to remain in the UK?
