Allowed to bring parents as dependants of HSMP visa holder?

Post by hsmp_distressed » Sun Apr 01, 2007 6:18 am

Has anyone ever tried bringing their parents as the dependants of a HSMP visa holder? How complicated (if at all possible) is this? What about getting a visitor's visa for them -- is the HSMP holder allowed to sponsor and if yes, what is the minimum time he/she has to be in UK to qualify for sponsorship?

You can definitely sponsor anyone on visitor, there are no hard and fast rules for sponsoring a visitor visa, only that the person who visits you does not use public funds and u have enough to support that.

Sponsoring parents as dependents can be done provided they are dependent on you and have no other income to support.

Read visa guidelines and all will be clear.
